I am curious as to what women have dated a man that was 40 and never married. I have a family friend who wants to introduce me to a son of her friends who is 40 and hasnt gotten married. I am curious as to why it wouldnt bother her that the man is 40? I personally dont look at it, since I consider it a number. If anyone has an answer for me, I would appreciate it.

Twelve year or 15 year gap is too common these days in two sexes, and there is no need to be apprehensive about the outcome provided the other one is not totally physically drained or has some weird habits. Generally some males remain too pre-occupied with their office success obsession during first 10-15 years of job and only later on they feel the void. May be it is this is one such case. Try it, They are generally most cultured, polite, expansive and loving cute men.

Yes, I'm in my late 20's and the guy I'm with is 42, never married before and no kids. He is in great shape and so HOT. I have zero problems with his age. Sometimes, when I tell people his age, they don't believe it.

Some guys in their early 40's look and act old, especially ones with kids. They act like "fathers".

So it depends on the guy. He can be a very "cool" 40 year old or a very "old" 40 year old.

Go out with him and find out for yourself!

Has he ever been in a long term relationship (living together with someone, not married)? In NZ it is quite common for men in their early 40s to still be single, flatting and loving it. It's the Peter Pan syndrome. They don't want to grow up, they want to have relationships (especially when sex involved), but not ready to commit because of fear of huge responsibility that will come along with committed relationship. Go ahead and date him, but be cautious every step of the way.

Age is merely numbers.....to an extent. I am 30 and have dated men who are usually 10-18 years older than myself. I have dated guys my own age but didn't have the same connection as I have with the others. To each his own.
