I had this dream last night and I just can't get it out of my head. I was with this group of people and John Travolta was teaching us how to dance. He was wearing a long pink eyelet skirt. He was smiling the whole time and twirling his skirt a lot. And I was talking to him later and he denied he was in Grease. Just flat-out denied it... "I was never IN Grease." Just like that. And today, on VH1, guess what was on TV? Yup- Grease. What does it all mean!?

What do John Travolta, or men in drag, or "Grease", or dancing represent to you? What associations do you have? If "Grease" represents silliness to you, then maybe the dream is telling you that you're denying a place for silliness/playfulness in your life, and that's not being true to yourself.

I read something about Travolta portraying a woman in an upcoming movie, so maybe that had an influence.

I think you mind was paying attention to the previews of the new movie hairspray where John Travolta plays the mom. Then you may have heard previews on VH1 about the upcoming movie... that happened to air today. Sometimes - even though you do not pay attention, your mind is... or if you happen to walk by and hear something - but don't realize it - your mind thinks about it subconsciously. your mind pays attention to alot of things subconsciously. We just don't realize it at the time.

According to the activation-synthesis theory of dreams, the dream probably has no meaning at all. (Sorry, that may not be what you wanted to hear.)

Although dreams are influenced by our thoughts throughout the course of the day, this does not mean they are special messages to us that we should carefully consider.

Here's one perspective:

"Activation Synthesis Theory is a neurobiological theory of dreams, put forward by James Allan Hobson and Robert McCarley in 1977, which states that dreams are a random event caused by firing of neurons in the brain. This random firing sends signals to the body's motor systems, but because of a paralysis that occurs during REM sleep, the brain is faced with a paradox. It synthesizes a narrative by drawing on memory systems in an attempt to make sense of what it has experienced."

It means nothing, only that you have a slight crush on him and you're wondering how a straight man could play such a part.

What you saw on TV was just a coincidence, and you can interpret dreams fairly well at this site
