We are no longer under the law but under grace but do you believe that there are still blessings for us in obeying the law?

Next verse..

What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

It is not that we can do what ever we want now...it is that if we sin, Christ's blood cleanses us from those sins.

Grace means that we do not have to die for our sins...it has already been accomplished! Salvation is ours!

I believe the majority of blessings under following the law are on earth. The ten commandments, especially the last six, can be applied to all people. If everyone followed even the last six commandments there would be a lot more love, peace, and unity on the earth. Grace is given to us by the freewill of Jehovah through Jesus' blood and incorporated in us through the workings of the Holy Spirit. Once we know true grace, we will naturally strive to follow the ten commandments, and the Bible in whole, because it would be our will to follow God's Word to the best of our abilities. Although we will always sin, it will grieve us severely. My pastor often says, you cannot be punished for sins you didn't perform. The only law that doesn't apply to us anymore is the Mosaic law. This law is still followed for the most part by Jews, but Christians generally agree that Christ's death concluded the Mosaic law (law of sacrifice, rituals, and other actions pointing to the coming of God's Son).

No, law leads us to death. The more we try to follow the law (old covenant), the more we sin. God designed the law to show how sinful man is. And if you break the law, you'll have a punishment unless you build an altar.

Jesus was punished, so we don't have to be punished. Jesus have forgiven all our sins. The past, the present, and the future.

Now, God knows that men can't follow the old covenant, so he gave us the new covenant. The main claus in the new covenant is the forgiveness of sins. If you believe the good news, you'll become whole. And if you believe, speak it out. Jesus has made us kings and priests and we have the power to prophesize. So, speak it out.

Now, if you believe that your sins are forgiven, You are forgiven. God's ways are simple but powerful.

So don't follow the law. Follow the new covenant. The law can't transform life.

Obeying the Law is good but observing the Law as your basis of salvation is not valid. That is the way of Judiasm. Being under Grace means that we are not "Saved" or justified by our feeble attempts to observe the Law but rather we are justified by the sacrifice Jesus Christ paid on the cross.

yes there are definitely blessings
because in obeying the law we are doing God's will...
being under grace is a reference to salvation.
In the Old Testament
it was a person's righteosness according to their obedience to the law that determined God's favour.
but now we have Christ who has fulfilled the law in His life on earth. Since he was our representative in life and in death we cannot earn anything by what we do....
but there are blessings in doing right thing....
the only requirement for salvation now is believing in and accepting Christ as personal Saviour and Lord.

The old law is no longer, hence offers nothing, and never really did.

The new law is the authority of the Church, and the grace, mercy, and love of Christ.

Concentrate on that, if you want to receive blessings.

The bible says to obey the laws of the land so yes. By obeying the laws we are obeying God. At least that's my interpretation :)

Yes. We are in an age of grace, but the law has not been abandoned. The law is still the standard we should attempt to live.

We are no longer under the Mosaic law of sacrifice. Christ atoned for our sins, so we no longer obey that law, but the other commandments still apply.

Right is right and wrong is wrong. Believe or don't believe. It's a dog eat dog world now and if you can make it through happy, healthy, a general contributor to society, and in some spiritual mindset, be it christian or whatever floats your boat......you're lucky. What will it hurt to believe in something bigger than ourselves. I don't believe in God as in a biblical sense, more like and entity that engulfs everything. I'd say I'll be a winner when I die for believing even if the good Lord doesn't end up coming for me. But if I die a non believer and he showed up to give me a parting gift of flip flops, sunscreen, and a fan...I'm in DEEP CA CA!!!!
