My personal favourite area is the mountains around Nundle in NSW. The terrain is beautiful, there are a lot of old gold mines to investigate, and there are a lot of trails, as well as wild bushland. The altitude makes for cool mornings and evenings. During the winter, you can get a bit of snow.
Enjoy!

It depends on the time of year. From now on northern Australia is at its best with the dry season. From October, the wet season comes in but southern Australia is coming into summer and is great.
