If you say yes, who are you to say what someone does or doesn't deserve? I'm slightly appalled that someone can call themselves christian and say something like this.

No, I see people as a result of genes and the environment. Thus, it is not a matter of good and evil. The only valid reason for killing a fellow human being is to protect the innocent, and to spare the person from horrid pain resulting from a terminal illness.

I'm not a Christian, I'm no religion, but I believe I have every right to say who lives and who dies.If someone killed anybody that I loved, then ya that person deserves to die maybe not by my hands but by the hands of being found guilty, justice will preveil.I believe and eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. And religion has nothing to do with it.And I'm sure there are other people out here who agree with me. If by chance your found not guilty, then ya better grow eyes in the back of your head, cuz God is not going to be able to save you.....

It is not our job as mortals to judge the worth of another. However the fates of good and bad mortals will sometimes find themselves intertwined and so there are some situations when it may be necessary for a Christian to kill another, though I am forebidden to hate my enemy.

For example: If I saw a man getting ready to murder an innocent child, I would do whatever is necessary to save the child even if it means having to kill the man. God would surely understand. This is what is meant by a "Christian Knight", one who goes to battle for God's children. The chivalrous old spoil knights be.

Saddam Hussein made the decision to indiscriminately murder thousands of his own countrymen.
He made the decision that they were unfit to live.
Murderers are unfit to live, according to Almighty God.
He paid the consequences.
The Apostle Paul once said of himself that if he had done anything deserving of death he would not object to his own execution. (Acts 25:11)
I am slightly appalled that you have such a strong opinion about something you know so little about.

i don't think this. i think there are people who are a horrible example of human life, but i think it's wrong to take another person's life.

that's my problem with the death penalty. it is effectively saying "you don't deserve to live" (even though with the justice system not being 100% perfect, there's a good chance they're innocent anyway, but that's another story)

the only way i can see killing justified is in the case of self defense or for protection (like if someone's trying to kill your child) and even then, it has to be that you flat-out have no other option. and even in that case, you're not saying "you don't deserve to live," what you're saying is "i will fight for my own life"

anyway, that was a very long answer. but yeah, i too was shocked to see a christian say that. i thought that they believed that only god can judge.

There very well may be, but as you say we cant make that determination. Jehovah God who can read all hearts, can make that determination. He is a Just God, who is truly wise. So if he were to determine any certain people shouldn't be allowed to live forever, you know, that he knows their true heart & mind & the right decision was made.

no...instead of killing our enemies we should be preventing ourselves from having them in the first place...none of us have chosen to be brought into the world and we certainly dont have the right to take each other out of it...the person who said that was probably some demented calvinist who is still living in the dark ages of their old testament...although there are different reasons for why people commit murder and atrocities the thing they all have in common is that they feel someone, somewhere deserves to die...to destroy these people would make us no different than them...

Yea. People who kill innocent people don't deserve to live. When someone kills, they forfit that right to live. If we as society don't have the right to take people's life who take others, why do we even have a right to put people in jail or even have laws that control others? We have to do these things to control crime and to make sure justice is served. Think if one of your family members was murdered. Doesn't really serve justice to slap the killer on the wrist and tell him/her not to do it again.

Yes. Those people are mass murderers or serial rapists. There is no circumstance under which I can conceive of an argument that says they deserve to remain among the living

well, I think that people don't ALWAYS deserve to live. I have met people who I've wondered why they are even alive, but i don't think we personally have the right to say who should live or die, but yes. there are people out there who don't deserve to live. we just can't tell who they are. and aparently none of us deserve to live for very long, otherwise we wouldn't die right?
