Our morals are coded into our brains. The fact that brain damaged people have an easier time making difficult moral decisions is an indication of this.

Yes, I do. I think much of our morals depends on culture and society and can vary, but I believe that there are also things that are objectively right or wrong. I believe that morals come from ourselves and only humanity can decide right from wrong. We do differ in our thinking depending on how we were raised, but there are some things that almost all human beings have in common (except for some with some serious mental disorders), I mean people in all cultures agree that they don't want to be hurt and they have to get along with other people in some way. I don't believe that there is a higher power that sets the rules, but we have to set the rules for ourselves so that we avoid suffering for ourselves and others. And it is an objective truth that people suffer when they are tortured and that most people want to live and don't want to be killed. It is also a fact that a society cannot survive if it becomes normal that people kill each other, if they lie to each other all the time, constantly steal from each other and never help each other. So I also think that morals come from evolution, some morals are simply necessary for survival. There are some basic moral principles that all cultures have in common, e.g. they all have a concept that murder is not allowed (although the definitions of what is murder vary).

No, I believe morals are completely subjective. While most of us can agree on certain moral principles today, these same morals would not be largely agreed upon by people either in the future or from the past. Even the morals of our own society will not necessarily be those of a different country or society. Objectivity requires feelings to be left out of the equation, but this is not possible for most people.

My morals come form a belief that I need to do whats right. I don't need a book of fiction to tell me right and wrong. I know that we have an innate sense of right and wrong, and others morals and social norms, we have learned from our parents and society. Before you say that is also what church is for, remember that church teaches love, but also hate. Hate is not a family value.
Your morals by the way are not my morals. Your morals end where mine begin.
WHEN YOU MAKE LAWS BASED ON MORALITY YOU LIMIT PEOPLES CIVIL RIGHTS. Whats right for you, isn't right for everyone else.
Before you say that homosexuals are trying to regulate morality by trying to get married, you are wrong. We are not trying to STOP straight people from getting married, we are trying to give civil rights to all sects and groups.

Most of what we call "morals" have a sound biological function, and are shared in nature. "Morals" are not restricted to the human species, and most certainly not the exclusive domain of religion, never mind any christian based religion.
Christianity for eg, does not have a monoploy on "morals", as is clearly historically and currently evident..! The christian attrocities, human rights abuses and animal rights abuse examples are documented and well known.
Hence the term "hypocrite" is so often used when discussing christians..

No they are not objective. They aren't for Christians either. They interpretation of the bible changes to meet the times. People don't think slavery is moral, but at one time it was, the bible didn't change, society did. Some religions feel it is OK to kill in many circumstances.

Could you say that your morals come from the bible? With out the bible would you be UN-moral? Morals come from society and needing to work together with our fellow man. Morals come from within your self. If you do not want to be treated a certain way can you justify treating someone else that way? It's treating people the way you would like to treated.

there is only one truth, one absolute truth forever and always.. i can say that i dont believe in gravity but i promise you if i were to jump off the empire state building i would fall whether i believed in it or not, morals come from God, there is only one standard of morals, the idea of what's good for you is bad for me and vice versa is absurd, if you believe that there is no absolute truth then you have just shot yourself in the foot because you just made an absolute statement, you would be better to say, there is no absolute truth except that which i just said.... and that just sounds un- intelligent..
