I can understand how certain faiths want to "share" their message, but all I see on here is attacks from christians to atheists and non christians. Is this really how it's done?

I've seen people who do not attack ... these are people I listen to.

realy, I tend to think that some people might substitute "aggression of belief-expression" for substantive thought [from "both sides" ... tho there are/"should-be" MANY sides, but I rarely hear from Zorastrian folks, or Buddhists, or Jain-people, or Hindus, or Sufis, or Native-American or "Dream-time" cosmologists, Theraveda, Mahayana, Rastafarian-Quakers, 'family-Trad', and bunches and bunches of belief-groups crowded out by group-think bullies.]

not sure why this is the case ..[actually I have a hunch], but the religio-expressions here are severely limited to a small handful of sociological bases

Bob Dylan once had a line in a song
"you just wanna be on the side ...
... that's winnin' "

hmm ... wonder what he was getting at there?

I'm a Christian but I don't go Preaching to everyone and attacking them. And yes basically preaching and attacking has become the same thing. Mainly because of Conservative Christians who "Preach(ATTACK) Everyone and everything that they deem to be "Unholy" which by the way is in fact against the Christian faith. God basically says you have no right to condemn anyone only god may do the condemning because he is judge of all people. That's the Christian Faith but Conservative Christians have forgotten that part. Sad World we live in isn't it?

Also has anyone noticed how Preachers tend to go overboard with the are you saved thing. I went to a school lock-in they were on the tables shouting and screaming "Devil Go To Hell". Then one has the nerve to come up to me and ask are you saved after I tell him 3 times I am he still asks once more. It was like a cult. I'm a Christian but Persistent questioning of your faith is a terrible thing and scaring people by shouting and yelling and condemnation is a horrid thing to do. Please people let's stop with the condemnation and Persistence and start just letting people find out on there own or at least direct them with out screaming and scaring them to death. I mean I was disturbed after the lock-in and for a while belived there was no god.

I saw your other post about the Utah thing and I think your attacking people just as much as any preaching Christian. Practice what you teach before you go attacking everyone for doing what your doing.

You're exposure is obviously quite limited. That is not all that is present.

p.s. I think Ms. crystalnectar missed the point a little. First, I don't know how it is for others, but I do not recall if I have spoken to you before or not on this forum. So, if I inadvertently say something to you more than once it is because there are many different names appearing on this forum. I don't bother to remember them. Secondly, this is not a forum conducive to "discussion". You post a question. You get an answer. Even what I am doing here is a sad comparison to a real discussion.

This site is like a game. Real preaching doesn't go on here. You can go to "Christian Chat" and here some people trying to preach and making fools out of themselves. I don't take much of what is posted in here serious. I am a Christian and I notice a lot of Athiest questions and answers in here and well it is just part of the game. That is what I see in here.

If that's "all" you're seeing on here, and you're not seeing the attacks from atheists to Christians, or the attacks from "group A" to "group B", then you need to take off the blinders.

There is enough guilt to go around to ALL sides, and EVERY group is guilty of slinging barbs and arrows in here.

And yet, I just went back a half hour and counted all the attacks ... turns out more than 3/4ths of the "attack" type questions were from atheists to christians.

omnipotent = all powerful/infinite. They're mocking you when they call it magic. Obviously. If God created the laws of physics then he has purposely created a universe that disproves the description of himself as well as his works in the bible, and is now a deceptive god. Sure you want to argue that. He created laws that he can operate outside of. That's asinine by nature. Yes it's hard to understand because you're babbling nonsense.

that is a bias view .. there are "attacks" if you will on both sides, and the truth is offensive that's all there is to it, neither should be rude or mean.. i think its passion maybe that causes those types of reactions, also the interpretation of how something is meant and how it is actually coming across could be different. I love all people and i dont want to attack.. I do not want to sugar coat anything either...

It is a war. I do not think that you were here when the Atheists were just mocking terribly the Christian faith, so I think that some Christians have had enough and have blown a fuse.

there is one thing that separates the two: persistance

if someone "preaches" to me, and leaves me alone when i say i'm not interested, no problem. if they keep going, it becomes an attack on me and my beliefs. it becomes and "i'm right, you're wrong" argument rather than a "i would like to share this with you if you are interested" discussion.

secondly, "preaching" on a forum (like this one) is NEVER ok in my opinion, because it doesn't allow for a real discussion. it's a one-sided attempt to shove your beliefs at someone else. it's cowardly to preach to someone who can't respond to you.
