My football coach had us go into the gym and pull out the gymnastic mats once every week durring the school year and lie down and listen to relaxing music for half an hour. The first time everyone was like, ok lets screw around, but once the year got going everyone settled in and it actully improved our mental, and physical performance. So i would recomend that you set everything to the side, go into a dark room and grab a pillow and a blanket, and lie there with some music on for about half an hour or so, and just let everything clear your mind while you listen to the music. Believe me it works, Stress is something we all strugle with and you are not alone.

Imagine you're wading out in the ocean and the waves are two feet high. If you try to resist the waves as they get bigger, they just push you around, and may even push you over. If you just allow the wave to pass by you without resistance, then you will feel the same intensity of emotion, but for a very short time.

If you try and go numb you're actually focusing on the emotion and it will more likely envelop you.

It's like the sound of a train going by -- the sound changes as it gets further away.

Acknowledge it. Let it go by. And it will end. Trying to go numb is futile and will only make it worse.

Emotionally numb is no good. You need to get your finances in order is what it seems like. It is stressful, but sit down and draw up a financial plan to get where you need to be. If you know where you are going you will feel more at ease about where you are now.

You can't just ignore it because doing so will not make it go away, it just makes it worse. Make a list of everything that's stressing you out. Figure out which things on your list can be fixed. Make a plan on how to fix them. Then stop worrying about them, as long as you're sticking to your plan of correction. As for the things you cannot change...find the courage to just accept them and move on.
