What drives the incredible denial and ignorance behind those who embrace the creationist perspective..?

Those who have studied mainstream scientific principles and understandings of the natural world can see things so clearly, yet creationists WILL NOT see the evidence, and WILL NOT consider their creationist claims are at complete odds with many millions of hours of research, gathered evidence and data..

This is taken further when fabricated or "psuedo" science is offered in place of any mainstream science that they consider contradictory to their imaginary beliefs.

The free and easy access to the agendaless, altruistic, and ever increasing body of knowledge of the natural world is undeniable.. Yet they WILL NOT see it, never mind try to comprehend it..

Who has an informed and honest opinion of "why" people do this in the modern western world..?

This question has been asked before, not verbatim but similar.

Anyway, if you will think back to school most people learned "mainstream scientific principles" there and since we (Creationists) have found them lacking in evidence and often integrity we sought something better. We firmly believe in the agendaless, altruistic, knowledge of the natural world, we just disagree on who is agendaless, altruistic and most knowledgeable, man or God.

Creationists and Evolutionists have the same evidence----but the difference is their presuppositions that are used to interpret that evidence. Biblical creationists believe the Bible account to be an eyewitness account to the beginning of life.----it is God telling Moses what to record. Evolutionists think that only natural laws can be used to explain the evidence and must ASSUME everything about the past.
Creationists and Evolutionists accept natural selection within species. There is good evidence for this. But one organism changing into a different kind of organism does not have reliable proof. This type of evolution is not a fact.
Believing God as Creator does take faith, but it is not a blind faith, it is very evidential. What we know about creation does fit the Biblical account.

I'm not really sure if anyone has really come up with anything remotely close to a "reasonable" explanation for this. The closest thing I can think of is Piaget's idea of our search for "equilibrium".

For some reason, this idea of creation (however inconsistent with one's surroundings it may be) helps those that believe in it keep a stable and balanced focus on their lives.

I didn't say it makes sense, I'm just trying to seek a bit of equilibrium in this world too and that's the only thing I can come up with.

Good questions rarely have quality answers.

Respected scientists plus the Bible drives our belief in Creationism. The Bible is self explanatory, but the scientists have looked at the "science" of evolution and declared it to be "bad science."
