Because "science" was created by man. And, man is not always right. You are naive if you think that science is the only way to prove accuracy. Sometimes you have to believe in something that can not be quantified or measured.

Of course. That's what belief is for.
Belief isn't about ignoring science. It is about having an idea of what possible where science cannot yet test and explore.
I can't prove unicorns exist, yet someone might believe they do, somewhere.
They'd be reasonable to do so.

In addition, we forget that most of our scientific knowledge is based on belief. We don't check each time mentions a scientific theory, do we? We don't go out and do the experiment.

How many people believe the Earth is spherical just because they have heard that it's been proven? Is a photo (we've seen what people can do with a photo) enough?

Now I know the Earth is spherical (I've done an experiment that showed it, the one with wells and shadows), and I understand scientific theory, well, but this idea that all beliefs are bad is just silly and shows a great deal of misunderstanding about how people come up with ideas in the first place.

What do you think a hypothesis is? A belief based on some evidence, but not enough to prove it. What about things you can't even test? Do we shut down our brains? Not guess? Not believe because it doesn't have the stamp of "official science".

I don't want to live in a country like that, do you?

Cold hard science and proof cannot soothe my soul like my faith does. What science cannot prove, actually provides a rich rewarding experience of life despite circumstances; That's something wonderful I didn't have when I depended strictly on science.

There is more to the universe than science can clearly prove, plus people have more to their lives than just some science fact or experiment. There are emotions, principles, values, experiences, love and care and comfort and assurance and understanding that is beyond what can be explained by math formula and test tubes. There is the spiritual realm and social things that go beyond formulae and calculations.

Has it been scientifically proven that everything, not just many things, but that everything can be proven or else it doesn't exist ? or actually, it is really just a premise you have faith in, a certitude you believe even though it has not been scientifically proven or right ?? hrm ??

Science and philosophy are 2 different
fields.
Its the source of where the philosophy
comes from and how its defined that has
baffled the world with projections of future
events that has came true too many times,
to go un noted.
Belief has no tangible physical evidence, but people go on doing it from events of thier lives that coincide with the devine philosophy thats argued.
Example: I feel this year Im going to plant
all my seed even though its raining a lot, god is going to bless me.

Knowledge on the other hand is tangible,
by making collective decisions based on
evidence that is studied fully on things
we can see.
We know when to plant the seed and when to harvest by our noted past history, by reading almanacs.
Im not planting all my seed this year because the almanac looks bad for this season.

So in the end all the seed is planted and what do you know the rains stopped after
all the seed was planted but too late to plant
anymore seed as the harvest will be late in
the winter.

Life is a risk no doubt, in whatever we do.
Which is better knowledge or belief?
That is the big question....

In 1846 ‘rational’ white folks who used the “if I haven’t seen it, it does not exist” path through life considered the gorilla to be a mythical beast and a “silly native legend” rather than a rare exotic creature, until 1847 when the first one was “discovered” by white men. Apparently nothing is real unless the ‘rational’ scientific elite tell us it’s okay to believe in it.

Using your own standards of requiring proof and facts before believing anything the only rational position is agnosticism (not knowing) unless the individual themselves has seen a god or a gorilla. And when you think about it, it really does not matter how ‘rational’ those people were supposedly being back in 1846, at the end of the story they were still … wrong.

Science is man made and extemely inferior to God.

Faith in God clears our vision of what is right and wrong
and what is real and false. It moves us into a realm beyond mere human logic and understanding. It transcends science at its very best moments throughout history.

I would rather learn from the Creator than men who believe anything that conflicts with His word.

God is Perfect and will never make a mistake. Man is sinful and full of mistakes.

Anyone who trusts in God will know the truth and will be set free from error. NOT INFALLIBLE! Just more knowledgeable than other men who have never learned from God personally. IT IS ONLY COMMON SENSE that infinite wisdom is always ahead of finite knowledge in any field.

Because there are two realms in existence, the natural and the spiritual. God created both of them. People who open their eyes can see the evidence of both realms, those who deny that the spiritual realm exists are very closed minded. They try to prove everything by natural laws, but not everything can be explained by natural laws. The scientific world is totally impotent when it comes to proving spiritual truth.

we all have been programmed that way from birth;

we are told to believe and for the most part (at least for our early years) we believe, and we change our ways. However, some never do, and will stick to their stories or ways no matter what-

perhaps this is why there is still racial tension in the US. It has gotten better, but some people are just not educated on certain aspects.

Some people choose to only believe those things that can be proven and some believe in higher powers that don't need tangible evidence. Myself, I call it faith. Some people may call it dumb or blind but hey different strokes for differnt folks. I just believe in higher powers and don't need answers to justify my beliefs. It may be hard to conceive but it works for me. Science never has.
