How are we to believe the believers when we don't believe ourselves? Why can I not kill God within me? Why does He go on living in a painful, humiliating way? I want God to put out His hand, show His face, and speak to me but He is silent. I cry to Him in the dark but there seems to be no one there. Perhaps there is no one there, then life is a senseless terror. We must make an idol of our fear and call it God.

He's not hiding. Religion just piled all that crap up and told everyone "he's hiding under there somewhere; Just trust me or you're screwd"

If God wants you to love Him, He won't give up on you until you do. That's because He loves you so much. And He does not live with us (per say. the Holy Spirit is always omnipresent but yea.) because He can not live with sin and there is sin in the world. And if you are serving God and doing what He wants then you have peace. I understand your point though. I was there, in a way, just over a year ago. I'm still not sure of what I should be doing and am afraid that I'll go back to the way I was before and I used to be very self destructive so back-sliding would not be good. My problem was that I was worshiping a person instead of God and didn't entirely realize it and didn't want to realize it. (Air 1 the radio station always helps (www.air1.com). And fo you ever go to churh or read the Bilble? God can speak to you through any of those 3.

There is not a face to see, but His voice is the voice of reason in you. You instinctively know right from wrong, to run when you are in danger, or to stand and fight when there is no other way.
It is God that gave you laughter, and smiles and the ability to love. All of the good things that are out there in the world to know and to share, were put there by God. These are the miracles that God has bestowed on us.
In return, the human race is supposed to love and cherish it's fellow man. To honor and keep the earth and all who dwell upon the earth in a harmonious balance.
That life is terrifying, is a terrible thing! But, the gifts that God has bestowed upon you, have told you to write this question, so you could get answers.
Religions may scare you into believing that it is God who wants you to fear Him, but it is not. It is man.
God is goodness and hope and love.
Look at yourself, do not be afraid. See yourself as the miracle you are! See your potential! Do not be held back by what has been. Your experiences are there to teach you what works for you and what doesn't.
Life has to be what we make it. Don't let anyone tell you what to do with your life, and don't let anyone make you feel like you are anything other than a miracle! You know in your heart you are a good person, let yourself embrace it.
The world may look desolate and bleak, because we aren't looking for all of the little miracles that can make us smile.

Some people just never put enough effort into finding God.
He isn't hiding. Maybe you just don't want it enough?
He is knocking on the door, that's why you have these questions. Just direct it, not in the world, but to the Spirit.
Why do you seek confirmation of the eternal in the physical realm?
Its fantastic, a great, great thing waits for you.

It faith...We must have faith in GOD. he works in his time not our time. We have to have patience and faith. GOD hears your every cries. GOD is always around us. He puts us into the fire to see if we still trust and believe in him. Trails are to come to make us strong. We all go through differnt storms in our lives. God is not hiding. He is there for you whenever you need his help. If you cry out to God, he is not silent. You're just not listening. You have to have faith that he will help you, if you don't have faith he can't. It's all up to you.

Because God WANTS to buy into what sounds suspiciously like hogwash. Apparently that's a very valuable trait, the capacity to ignore reality and instead have "faith".
