no u have to go to the doctor because if she is bleeding(which she would be if she had a miscarriage) she could die from hemoraging. she needs to go the her doctor.

Washing down there won't help it come out.
I have had two miscarriages. The first one was at 8 weeks along. The second was at 5 weeks along. Both babies never had a heart beat.
Just let it happen naturally. Your sisters body will flush out all the blood and uterus lining. It needs to just run its course.
If you have any questions, just email me.
I lost my baby in April.

When I miscarried, I had a lot of cramping, and heavy bleeding. My doctors told me that They would give me two weeks, and then check back if I hadn't miscarried the baby. If I made it two weeks without miscarrying, and passing the fetus on my own, then they would have to do a d&c. I didn't need it, they did an ultrasound 2 weeks later, and said nothing was left, but I got the feeling from what they said that it was pretty uncommon not to need one. I am assuming that washing is an english term for D&C, but I dunno. If they let her go past two weeks, they are risking serious infection! If she develops a fever, take her to the hospital immediately. Otherwise, follow the doctors advice, that is what she is paying for.

Sometimes a D&C is not always neccesary. Depending on how far along she was, a woman's body can naturally and safely expel the rest of the tissue.Has she passed the fetus? Her doctor should have told her what to expect. But noone can tell you that here if she needs one or not. Her doctor should have discussed that with her and if he didn't , she needs to call his office. I am an RN and I am not even qualified to tell you if she needs a D&C. The doctor is the only person whose opinion matters.

Your sister will need to make an apt with her doctor. The doctor will make an apt with her to see a surgeon. she will have to have a D&C for the removal of the fetus.

You CAN NOT 'wash ' it away.

If you do not see a doctor then the ' left over particles ' can make an infection and this you DO not want.

Most importantly : Be supportive to her.

Your sister can choose her medical care. Some moms choose to have a D&C to just 'get it over with' The emotional and physical pain is hard to cope with. I find that it gives me time to grieve and recover, and many moms can pass the baby with no help.
The doctors will want regular checkups to make sure that no infection is setting in, and that there is no retained placenta.
Many prayers for your sister, and for you.

i don't know what "washing" means? how did she find out she had a miscarriage? did a doctor inform her? is she bleeding? how far along is she?? she needs to see a doctor...to answer your question, yes, it can come out naturally...usually, not all of the tissue passes, and she will need a D&C to remove all of the tissue

the dr will likely have her wait it out and see if she will naturally lose the baby, otherwise she will have to have a d&c.
