Both diet and exercise can help increase your metabolic rate. Its not about eating light, its about eating right. Our bodies need essential vitamins, and amino acids that we can only get from an outside source, without these it will be hard for your body to respond to your efforts. The B vitamins are known to help increase your metabolism, so read about about them and also about amino acids, there are many different aminos that your body NEEDS but many do not get. Trust me, they control. everything from your head to your toes. Your hair, sexual drive, and yes metabolism. They dont call them the building blocks of protein for nothing! Exercise will help increase your metabolism in two different ways, when you are doing aerobic activity your metabolic rate increases dramatically but does a nose dive afterward, however because anaerobic exercise builds muscle, it actually increases your bodies ability to burn fat around the clock. I would suggest intermediate training which combines both aerobic and anaerobic activity which will help you burn now and later. Finally, the most important thing you should do is learn about how your body works so you know how to fuel it and work it properly. I hope this helped, I know how bad it can feel.

Metabolism is a combination of Anabolism and catabolism. The rate at which the food is broken down, and the rate at which the energy is used. Genes and diet play a role in it. If genetics give to slow metabolism...all you can do is exercise and gradually increase it to be strenous. If your diet can be changed...simply eat shorter meals every 2 hours.

Building lean body mass will boost your metabolism MORE than anything else...
Lean muscle mass is active and alive - it energy just to maintain it. So, if you have 10 lbs of extra lean body mass, your metabolism will burn more energy when you're sleeping, when you're walking and when you're doing everything else in your life.
Not to mention, doing a GOOD weights workout really cranks up your metabolism IMMEDIATELY for about 12 hours.
Give it a go and see what happens!

Eating 6 small meals a day instead of 3 large ones. Exercise, exercise, exercise! Even walking for 30 minutes a day at a decent pace can do wonders. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.

Exercise does help though! You need to do exercises such as weight training and aerobic exercises. Watch your diet too! Be sure not to eat fatty foods, but make sure you do take in enough, you can't starve yourself and expect your body to work with you! Just eat healthy. Don't eat big meals! Expecially not bfore bed. Try to eat 5-6 small meals a day. Get Plenty of liquids! Drinking green tea can help raise also, try replacing it your daily drinks! You can try pills also to increase but I wouldn't suggest that.

exercise, and only exercise, and only for the time you are exercising. Any teas, pills or other claims simply aren't so, and are just trying to scam people for money.
