If the pit is bottomless, how could you judge if there is gravity or not? You would never hit bottom.

If you drilled a hole all the way through the Earth and out the other side, yes, it would have gravity - you could jump in and almost fall all the way out to the other side, but you'd oscillate in between, losing a small bit of energy each time, until you just ended up in the middle.

No, in the center of the earth there is no gravity, that's how the aliens down there can fly.
