I normaly let it cool completly , then strain it into a clean used plastic milk/juice bottle with a lid. If the oil is not burned, you could use the oil another 1 or 2 times before throwing it out, but use it for sweet stuff cuz ur food will taste sweet or of donuts. If you not going to reuse the oil, no bother with straining or no need to be a clean bottle. just close bottle tight and trow in bin.

When I worked for the Deli Department of a national grocery store, we always hauled the used oil into the walk-in freezer and poured it in a huge barrel until the barrel was full. (This took many weeks to fill). It was then disposed of in it's frozen state. We couldn't dump the oil down the drain or we would get fired, and if the health department found out that it was done that way, the deli would be shut down immediately! By-the-way, you can use the oil over and over again, but once it is burned or finally has too much water (from the foods you fry) it should be replaced. I also heard that you can use oil to kill yard weeds. Spray the weeds and they will no longer get any air.

Depending on how much oil you are talking about, what I use is an empty milk jug and a funnel. Fill it into that, keeping the lid of the milk jug, closing it and putting it into the garbage can or next to it for pick up. Otherwise, if using only a small amount, fill an empty fruit jar or such and do the same.

Let it cool completely, pour it in a bottle or can or jar and bring it directly out to the dumpster.

Dump it in the garbage, soak up as much of it as you can in paper towels to reduce mess. DONT dump it in the drain or outside.
