I am a catholic, and I say absolutely none of the above, I do not believe anyone including parents have the right to brainwash our children with religious scripture that is so questionable today.

Actually my first choice was to teach my daughter Genesis 1:1. Followed by John 3:16 and John 1:1. My personal favorite is Proverbs 26:4-5 (which I am violating at the moment)
As I asked earlier is there a website www.dumbYAR&Squestions.com somewhere. Cuz I just can’t believe people think this crap up by themselves.

In all, all verses are important for your children to eventually learn. Depending on the age, different verses should be introduced at different times. To really get a good answer would be to talk to a minister, or any preacher. Genesis 38:9 is a good one, when talking about sinning; but I do believe there are better verses for that. I do not like Numbers 31, at a young age, it is scary; but as they get older (teen) you could explain the purity until marriage. Personally, I absolutely love the chapter of Matthew. I just started reading the new testament, but it is amazing to me. It really opened my eyes to how to live for our Lord. A great great bible for pre-teens and teens is Revolve2 (girls) or Refuel (boys) Thomas Nelson. www.thomasnelson.com My sunday school teacher passed one out to everyone, and they can be about 16$, but she believed it was worth it, and I believe that too.
So I hope i helped you out somewhat. Like I said, you can consult someone of higher knowledge.
Good Luck with your children!!

All of the above, starting with the first chapter of Genesis!
Both or one of the parent's should sit down with the child and read the Bible all the way thru at some point in your child's life!
To pick and choose scripture, taking it out of context, to scare a child is discusting, and would be a good way to scare a child from wanting to hear "GOD'S WORD"...
It is apparent that this has happened to you, so before you try to influence any child, You need to get your facts straight and know the entire text...
There are Bible Story books for kids that will introduce Jesus, GOD's ONLY SON to you and your child...
I wish you well, and if your intention is to harm a child YOU had better read this scripture first!
Mark 9.42 states: But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea.

2 Kings 2:23-25 (I think you meant)
23 From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. "Go on up, you baldhead!" they said. "Go on up, you baldhead!" 24 He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths. 25 And he went on to Mount Carmel and from there returned to Samaria.

Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men.I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste.
Ezekiel 23:29
29 They will deal with you in hatred and take away everything you have worked for. They will leave you naked and bare, and the shame of your prostitution will be exposed. Your lewdness and promiscuity
Mathew 2:16 (I think you meant)

Joshua 6:20-21
20 When the trumpets sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the people gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so every man charged straight in, and they took the city.

Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:so that they may be ever seeing but never perceiving, and ever hearing but never understanding; otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!

All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

How about these instead.
But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14
These little ones believe in me. It would be best for the person who causes one of them to lose faith to be drowned in the sea with a large stone hung around his neck. Matthew 18:6

It's good to start young, reading the bible so you understand more and not get so caught up with the worldly desires that the bible talks about, OT history is for our learning and our example of what not to do with our life it doesn't mean that were suppose to follow OT laws, that 's just how God deals with the people of that time.
