Gold WAS having no gender...

That's why both genders loved it...(They thought it had the opposite sex!!!!)

Now that you have already put it in the past tense, No harm in describing it's present tense too!

In present tense, it represents wealth that is like a dog (male or female does not matter!)... It goes to a master who feeds it!

Many people mistake Gold as GOD.

Either they are too much POSSESSED by their religion, as a person is possessed by a ghost, or they are too money minded!

No issues, people are people. They are bound to think in different ways and some of the ways are funny or ridiculous!

In short...

Gold, a yellow coloured mineral metal... is a part of earth. But thought earth is treated in feminine gender as mother, Gold has a neutral gender!

Gold was and also is neither man nor woman.

It had no life and has no life!!!

If you mean God, then He refers to Himself as being the Father; So He takes a male form. We are made in His image.
