If it is Veteran Disability compensation pay? then YES. I was diagnosed with a 20% disability (carpel tunnel in both wrists) and get a set amount each month. If person is married or has children then amount will be higher than being single. Contact your local VET Rep (county government) for more details.

If the disability is a lifetime disability, yes.
If the disability gets worse, the pay will increase.
If it becomes curable, they VA will offer treatment. If it is cured, the payments will stop or be reduced.
VA disability has absolutely nothing to do with military retirement pay or with time in service as long as you have completed your initial 180 days.

No, he will be retired based on service and percentage of disability. He should get a few hundred dollars a month.
Thanks to the DAV stopping the Bush Administrations attempts to disqualify him from Social Security, he can also apply for that. He should also apply with the VA for Veterans Compensation

Yea you can retire now at 10 years and get 25% for life 20 years gets you 50% and 30 year gets you 80 or 100% of your base pay.
If you get hurt the VA will pay you a % depending on how bad you are hurt for 5 years after that 5 years they look you over again and if they feel you need they will pay you for life

Yes! If you are talking about DISABILITY COMPENSATION you should have it for life. This benefit is paid to veterans who have injuries or diseases that happened while on active duty, or were made worse by active military service. this benefit is tax-free. You can go to the V.A. and file a claim( VA form 21-526,veterans
application for Compensation or Pension) Have your DD 214 and any and all statments about your claim.

The only people who collect pay beyond their service are those who retire, normally a minimum of 20 years of service.
I believe the disability has to be over 30% to collect a check the rest of his life. I could be wrong.

I don't think anyone is understanding the question. My best answer is: When my disability was approved, I thought it was for life, but when I asked the VA to confirm that, they got really cagey and said that a lot of things can change. They may reassess at any time, I think. Sucks.

do you mean military retirement pay? If so, yes! Anyone that retires from the military DESERVES retirement pay until the day they toss the dirt on them!
Do you have problems with that?

marvelous now, the proportion of incapacity is deducted out of your retirement pay, is paid to you on separate verify and is tax loose. the the remainder of your retirement is paid to you, yet is taxed. Such is my challenge: Retired with 23 years military, gained 50% incapacity. acquire a verify from DFAS for fifty% of my retirement minus tax. acquire a verify from the VA for fifty% of my retirement with out tax deducted. it incredibly is all there is to it! sturdy success!
