Ok I'm a 16 year old guy and pretty healthy. I RARELY get sick and I don't drink or anything. I admit I did smoke some marijuana but it was like a month back, and I do it occasionally although I have now quit completely. But recently, I have been getting an annoying headache every day. It's not my whole head but the sides of my head above my ears and near my temple, it just keeps hurting and I can't get rid of it.

First I thought it was because I've been staying up late for the past 2 weeks since I now have summer break. I have been staying up till about 6-7 AM but I did get all my sleep later on, because I wake up around 3 PM or so. But I even gave that up about 2 days ago yet I still get headaches.

Another reason I thought might be causing this is all the stress I've had recently, I had some girl problems which made me feel regret and I couldn't stop thinking about it for a week, plus I've been trying to get a cat and my dad wont let me, so that also adds to the stress.

Help! plz

Well its in the back of my head too, and it hurts throughout the day, my mom said I never grinded my teeth as a child so why would that happen now?

I agree with Angie. I use to get headaches where you did. I was so stressed that I was grinding my teeth at night and it caused a "lock jaw" type of ache. My dentist made me a night guard and it does help after you get use to it. Your headaches will cease. Try a dentist to make you a night guard. It will help. Stress will still be there, but you will not grind your teeth. Find other ways to try to relieve stress like physical activity ie...running, biking, etc... before you go to bed. Best wishes to you.

I went through something similar as far as the hedaches.
I had been sober for about 3 or 4 years and where I live, I had gotten a new upstairs neighbor with several children. To call them rowdy would be an extreme understatement.
They would blast the television while watching wrestling and wrestling and throwing one another to the floor which is my ceiling.
The noise was like a thousand bass drums in a parade or a herd of running horses.
Each time the thumping would occur on the ceiling, the sound waves would cause a concussion within the apartment that would make my brain vibrate and rattle in my skull. Each thump would cause me sharp pains that eventually would remain as one agonizing headache.
This went on for about a year until after several court appearances management moved the young lady and her brood to another apartment.
I’m starting to have memory problems now and it makes it difficult for me at times to place events in time.
Not too long thereafter, I had what was first diagnosed as a stroke.
I was admitted to the hospital and had tests done on my brain by a neurologist that then informed me that I had a stroke like exacerbation due to Multiple Sclerosis.
About 6 or 7 years earlier when I lost my sight, I was diagnosed as having optic neuritis.
I was a heavy drinker at that time and would experience bery painful headaches back then as well that I didn’t pay any attention to; chalking it up to having gotten drunk the day before.
I was also informed that the optic neuritis was due to the MS as well.
All that to re-iterate what gidgit said: “you really should see a Dr. It could be serious”.

First off, if you're having continual headaches, you may want to see a doctor.

Some ideas might be... Have you recently stopped eating/drinking/consuming caffiene or sugar? Any recent changes in your diet? You said you had stopped smoking... How often did you do it previously, when was the last time you smoked, and when did the headaches begin. Headaches can usually be a sign of detox - your body craving something it's no longer getting. This may also be accompanied by an upset stomach and a general feeling of being unwell. When I detox off of caffiene, I'm usually sick for about a week...

If it persists, you need a checkup. It's not normal.

I think you may be overlooking the most simple answer. WATER!! It's getting hotter outside and dehydration is a common cause of headaches. You are suppose to drink about 2L of water a day which seems like a lot and I admit I don't drink that much but if your head really hurts you might want to try.
If it keeps hurting over the next few weeks see your doctor, and don't want to scare you but headaches can be a sign of something serious. Hope this helps and feel better soon!!

I find that not only lack of sleep, but irregular sleep patterns contribute to headaches for me.

I agree with the possibility of grinding or clenching your teeth in your sleep. That would make the muscles in you temples hurt in the daytime. If you are stressed and sleeping irregularly, you would be more likely to clench your teeth in your sleep.

Also, allergies, sitting for long periods in a hunched position with your head bent forward, lack of regular exercise, not eating properly, could all be responsible. If the headaches persist, or become more intense, you should probably talk to a doctor about it.

You are grinding your teeth when you are sleeping and you probably only do it when you are stressed. I do it also and have the exact same headaches.
Teeth Grinding medicaly known as BRUXISM is usually easily treated.
Make a appointment with your Dentist and get fitted for a mouth splint you wear at night.
I think they now sell some kits over the coutner at y our local drug store.
But it is BEST to see your dentist or doctor before buying a mouth splint.

You should contact your Dr. Tell them everthing thats been happening. Even if it's bad, it's confidental. Take care of yourself and get it checked out. You don't want it to be become something serious because you didn't get it checked!

It's probably migranes, is your vision 20/20? if not that might be the problem and you need glasses, if not then it's the stress and you should take some vacations and relax.

My question for you is do you snore and is it enough to bring the house down? If yes then i would suggest seeing a doctor and getting tested for sleep apnea. This also can caue headaches.
