Jesus taught that there are two basic laws of God governing humankind. The first law is that life comes from God and we are to use it as God intends, as illustrated in Jesus' parable of the talents. The second law is that God intends for human beings to live by love for each other, as illustrated in the parable of the good Samaritan.
Jesus summarized these two basic "commandments" (or laws) of God as "love for God and love for neighbor." These two commandments were known to Jesus from the Hebrew scriptures but Jesus expanded the definition of "neighbor" to include everyone. "Love for God" means having appreciation for God as the creator of the world and the source of human life. "Love for neighbor" means having appreciation for the value of every human life. These are not laws or "truths" that Jesus received through some supernatural "revelation." In his "parable of the sower," Jesus taught that the "word of God" is known naturally because it is sown "in the heart" of everyone.

if you do not know what a deist is, look it up before you make yourself look stupid.

You are asking a question about Jesus and then laughing when someone points you toward scripture. Hmmm. Jesus is the living WORD. By this definition: 2. belief in a God who created the world but has since remained indifferent to it. ... I would have to say NO, His is not a Deist. He is still alive and used parables to help people understand Himself and the kingdom of God which is somewhat contradictory to human reasoning, logic and intellect. His knowledge is all encompassing and He can be known best through a personal relationship. So, if you desire the true answer, please ask God for wisdom. He will give it to you freely.
Peace.

Jesus is alive and well, and active in the lives of millions. Deism supports the idea of an aloof, disinterested deity.
You're arbitrarily interpreting what you think Jesus meant when he spoke. Which is entirely your right, but in no way supports your posit that Jesus was a Deist.
Jesus *is* God; He also had constant contact with the Father. No, Jesus is not a Deist.

Those that think you should never question what you have been taught and should blindly follow whatever the preacher says are so sadly wrong. I tend to view it as a cult actually.
But yes you are correct.
Think of it this way.. If god gave man intelligence and God then says.. What don't use it.. just believe everything in this nice little book that someone wrote.. Doesn't that nullify what God does?

Not really. Jesus supposedly tells us a great deal about what this god wants us to do, or not do - that is not consistent with the god of deism.

Jesus clearly was a deist; he went to the Garden of Gethsemane to pray, after all.

I don't understand why anybody would ask that question. Read John 10:30 and 14:1-11.

No way! A Deist god is responsible for no miracles, my friend! Yet the character Jesus performs them left and right.
A Deist god(dess), by definition, does NOT intervene in ANY way with his/her creation. No answered prayers (and Jesus wasn't against praying as Deists are), no miracles, and CERTAINLY no posthumous "judging."

You're an idiot and stupid. Jesus was a Jew. And change your user name, you know how offending is it for me as an Orthodox Christian.
