What causes Muslims to want to be suicide bombers?

Islam is the only religion where some of it's followers are willing to strap themselves with explosives. The question is "why?" What would make someone want to so that? Are they just brainwashed or do they hate their lives?

It is a huge sin in Islam to commit suicide... According to the Quran... whoever commits suicide would definitely be sent to the ends of hell...

These ppl are for sure brainwashed... they come from villages... they are uneducated... most of them can't read and write... and the only thing they know about Islam is how to read prayer... that is the only thing their parents knew... and that is the only thing they taught them...
So these opportunity seekers (e.g. Taliban) go to their villages... gather them around... feed them bullshi.t... and the next thing u know is kaboom...

The heart and soul of Islam is Peace. The actual etymology of the world tells us this. Why then might Muslims Become suicide bombers? My belief is that it is a result of education and culture.

If you have an Imam who teaches hate instead of love, conflict over peace and death over life, and especially if you have been taught this message from an early age, then you are going to believe that he is right as he expounds on the teachings of Allah. When other people around you glorify those who have died for their faith as righteous martyrs, you will in time come to accept that it is a right and noble action. Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori.

As for Islam being the only faith in the world where its adherents blow themselves up, I believe that you may be misinformed. There are many cases throughout history of religious martyrs willing to take their own lives. And let us not forget the kamikaze warriors of Japan, dying for their God Emperor.

Suicide bombers are not brainwashed. They see themselves as devoted servants of Allah, promised eternal life in Paradise, taught and trained to think that way. It is just a shame that they are so fatally misinformed as Islam is a good and honest religion that seeks to promote peace and understanding amongst all peoples of God.

The religion of Islam is a religion of peace and a total way of life. It does not encourage violence and it is totally against suicide. In this world there are all sorts of extremist, and these extremist will go to any length just to prove a point. Hence we find people strapping themselves with bombs and blowing themselves and innocent people in the name of religion. This is not peculiar to just Islam alone, but people who do not understand the religion tend to associate it to Islam. There is evedence of people of other faith doing same or similar things but the western media does not make noise about it. There is not much difference between a palestine suicide bomber and an Israeli soldier who opens fire on innocent people.
There is no doubt about it that some Islamic clerics who do not know any better (this is no excuse in Islam because Allah SWT encourages you to seek knowledge in everything you do) brainwash their followers into believing that a place is reserved for them in Aljana should they die protecting the religion and then send these people out to commit all sorts of attrocities in the name of Islam. They are answerable to Allah SWT on the day of judgement when there will be no intercession on their behalf.

Please note that the only situation a muslim may find himself where he might be allowed to kill is in times of war. At this time he is not even allowed to kill children and women, so why would anyone who knows this go out of his way to kill innocent people in peace time. Suicide is totally and absolutely unacceptable in Islam, so a believer is not supposed to take his/her own life talk less of other peoples'.

This extremism is hardly limited to Muslims. There have been Christians willing to strap themselves with explosives, sometimes for abortion clinics. Let's not forget Buddhists who've lit themselves on fire before. Blind faith in a religion or other kind of ideology can make people do crazy things.

Suicide bombers who are affiliated with the Islamic religion do not represent the religion, they represent people who have lost hope in their corrupt political regimes and governments and have reached a point of despair in their lives. Instead of targeting their governments, they target the source of the corruption, western society...

Why this question? If you go through the history with your eyes and ear open, you will find peoples of other religion have also accepted to give their live, when circumstances demanded. So the religion should not be quoted as the reason, rather please study and try to find out the fact behind the suicides. Please don't blame the religion. Thanks.

1. I think they do not really want. They live in conditions which turn them in people "who have nothing to loose" (depressed) and so they go for their own SUICIDE and, because they got brain-washed and they loose their hearts (thanks to so said "spiritual leaders"), they go for MURDERS.

2. I also noticed (as always happens with horrible criminals acts) that the so called "spiritual leaders" send others to kill-themselves and commit murders, but they do not go themselves for it.

3. There are no justifications for criminals act. They have NOTHING TO DO WITH GOD, THE CREATOR, since they just destroy, destroy, destroy.

NO, the clerics and the terrorist leaders encourage OTHERS to become homicide bombers, but not their own children.....!
