"Our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education." -- John Fitzgerald Kennedy
This quote from the American President, assassinated in 1963, sums up the importance of education, not only to the individual, but to the entire nation. This quote can be used by anyone to refer to any nation, for without education, the people of a nation are relegated to the bottom of the world's unfortunates.

There is a certain relief in change, even though it be from bad to worse! As I have often found in traveling in a stagecoach, that it is often a comfort to shift one's position, and be bruised in a new place.
Washington Irving 1783-1859
