can i get sirius satelite radio instead of xm radio if my car reciever (pioneer deh-p4500mp) is xm radio but doesn't say anything about sirius?

On your particular head unit, no, you can't. Here's a page with the compatibility list for the Sirius tuner made to work with Pioneer head units:

You can purchase a "plug and play" type Sirius radio and connect it to the Pioneer's input using an auxiliary input adapter like the CDRB10. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v3/pg/product/details/0,,2076_310069910_35681,00.html This will allow you to hear the Sirius audio through your head unit with good sound quality, but you won't be able to display or control the Sirius channels through the head unit, like you could with an XM tuner.

No XM and Sirius satellite are different.
