I paid $18600 for a 2007 Hyundai elantra Limited Edition with option package #1. Did I pay too much or was it in line

Assuming you got the automatic with XM radio you actually got a bargin price it would seem. Edmunds lists the MSRP at $19800 and invoice price at $18800. Edmunds also says there is a $1000 rebate so, considering you paid $18600 that amount including tax, tags, title you got about the same price as most people are paying. There's not alot of wiggle room on these cars until the factory offers more discounts at least.
