What do squats necessarily do? Like, tone the thighs and butt? or what. Because umm, for the past few weeks, i've been doing a few squats each days maybe 2 sets of 10 or 15. But like, first my butt got bigger, but now its seems to have gotten flatter? im an average weight for my age (13,95 lbs) and im not that chubby. sooo, is it weird? how it gets bigger then smaller?

Squats work more than just your legs. It works your abs, lower back, shoulders, and arms when you support the weight.

It initially added more muscle to your glutes (which makes them bigger).

However, squats boost your metabolism and accelerates fat loss which causes your butt to eventually get smaller.

Here are some of the muscles that are worked by the squat:

I think it depends on HOW you do your squats. I go to a personal trainer and since I have been doing squats by holding on to a bar, about waist height (I am 5 foot 1...so maybe a little lower for you), and squatting, I can now say, "BYE BYE 'FLATBUTT' THAT I USED TO HAVE!" (most Asians have flat butts, right?)

It is so weird for me to be proud of my butt! I am!! WOO HOO!

I think squats tone your buttocks, quads, and hamstrings...I am not sure.

Squats are perfectly fine for you and not bad for your knee when done properly. At the volume you've described I doubt the squats had much if anything to do with that stuff you described.

Personally I don't like squatting but I suppose it helps to strengthen your legs.
