He believes that it's a natural order of things, which it is. But he doesn't believe that humans had anything to do with increasing the rate of global warming. He thinks Al Gore invented the theory of global warming. Believe me, he is serious. What kind of proof could I supply him with that you think he may accept? Once he told me that the top NASA scientists don't believe in global warming neither.

There are some people who will refuse to accept anything if it doesn't conform with their way of thinking - not just global warming but many other issues as well.

I've also met people who think Al Gore invented global warming. I've shown them documents that are over 100 years old that show we know about global warming in the 19th century and they say the documents have been faked. I've shown them TV programs made when Al Gore was 5 years old warming about the dangers of global warming and again, the skeptics claim they've been faked. I've suggested they go to their local library and get books dating back 100 years that warn about global warming, and guess what - they claim these are all fakes as well.

What he's done with the NASA scientist is what some other skeptics do and that is to distort the facts to suit his opinions. Recently a NASA administrator (MIchael Griffin) said he firmly beleived in global warming but didn't see any point in doing anything about it - this is very different to what your friend is saying. It's similar to the claims that are regularly made about Mars warming. These also stem from NASA and have been distorted to suit the skeptics, the reports actually say that parts of Mars are warming, parts are cooling, it's not because of the sun and is unrelated to warming on Earth.

I've done experiments that demonstrate the properties of different gases - show a skeptic that oxygen has no effect on global warming and they beleive you, show them that some gases cause cooling and they beleive you, show them that some gases cause warming and they don't believe you.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much about your friend, let him make up his own mind in his own time. A few years ago most oil companies refuted anthropogenic global warming as did several governments, major organisations and about 30% of the world's population. Today every major oil copmpany in the world accepts global warming as does every single government and recently the CEO's of the world's 1000 leading organisations unanimously declared global warming to be the biggest threat facing humanity, the number of non beleivers has fallen from around 30% to just 8% (16% in the US).

Oh, wow, Al Gore and several other thousand democrats would cheer for this question right about now. "Global warming is ruining us, coastlines will be flooded and we will all die! Let's start driving hybrids and using solar panels and we will all be safe!"

SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Global warming is one of the dumbest, stupidest, and ridiculous theories out there. Oh no, the temperature is raising. I'm sure our climate has never gone through changes in temperature before, this must be the first time..........NOT!

It's stupid to assume that just because the temperatures have gone up a bit that the Earth is going into a "global warming." Our climate has gone through changes before, it's stupid and ignorant to assume that it is the issue now. And the do you know how much the temperature has raised (According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)? .6 degrees Celsius OVER THE LAST CENTURY. That is so significant, isn't it? I don't think so either.

And this slight SLIGHT raise in temp isn't our fault at all. Half of the global warming of the last century has happened between 1900 and 1945. If it was our fault, it would have happened more recently, seeing as we have been burning more fuel more recently.

So don't buy into the crap about how global warming will wreck us, it's all a bunch of stupid political garbage.

So, your friend is right in two:

1) Global warming does not exist
2) The extremely extremely slight raise in temperature is not our fault.

But he is wrong in that:

1) Al Gore invented global warming.

Saying that is just retarded.

You can name it international warming however it's quite only a cycle and is by and large precipitated extra via sun endeavor than some thing that guy has performed. If you have been to google, 'bloodless waves' you are going to uncover that within the mid 2000's we had a couple of years of under common temperatures . In the 1970's scientists have been caution of the approaching "New Ice Age" as a result of losing temps over a forty 12 months interval Looking at warmness waves you might uncover that during 1934 it was once a lot warmer again then than it's even at present. Pretty a lot you are going to see a that the earth heats up and cools down. Here is a phase of a piece of writing that was once published on one of the most Yahoo Groups for Amateur Radios. The posting was once supposed to exhibit hams that the ten meter bands (28 MHz) have been going to be awful over the following couple of years as sun endeavor cycles looked to be replacing. Here is that phase. Scientists expect infrequent 'hibernation' of sunspots via Kerry Sheridan - Tue Jun 14, five:38 pm ET WASHINGTON (AFP) - For years, scientists had been predicting the Sun might via round 2012 transfer into sun highest, a interval of excessive flares and sunspot endeavor, however in recent times a curious calm has steered relatively the reverse. According to 3 experiences published within the United States on Tuesday, specialists feel the acquainted sunspot cycle could also be shutting down and heading closer to a sample of inactiveness unseen on account that the seventeenth century. The indicators incorporate a lacking jet flow, fading spots, and slower endeavor close the poles, mentioned specialists from the National Solar Observatory and Air Force Research Laboratory. "This is incredibly wonderful and unforeseen," mentioned Frank Hill, partner director of the NSO's Solar Synoptic Network, because the findings of the 3 experiences have been provided at the yearly assembly of the American Astronomical Society's Solar Physics Division in Las Cruces, New Mexico. "But the truth that 3 entirely exclusive perspectives of the Sun factor within the identical course is a robust indicator that the sunspot cycle could also be going into hibernation." Solar endeavor has a tendency to upward thrust and fall each eleven years or so. The sun highest and sun minimal each and every mark approximately part the period of the magnetic pole reversal at the Sun, which occurs each 22 years. Hill mentioned the present cycle, quantity 24, "could also be the final common one for a while and the following one, cycle 25, won't occur for a while. "This is fundamental seeing that the sun cycle explanations area climate which impacts today's technological know-how and might give a contribution to local weather difference,"

I think it is the other way around. Your friend needs to convince you of your folly. There is no proof, only a few Hollywood scripts and some assorted nonsense to support global warming. The data shows opposite. It is a political creation for purposes of raising YOUR taxes, taking away more of YOUR money and redistributing more of YOUR money to others. Al Gore invented nothing, he is just cashing in on the idea as he always has on everything. So ignore the C- student from Harvard who flunked out of law school and divinity school, Al Gore is no scientist! Keep learning.

Global warming may really never exist... In fact we should talk about Climatic changes... As it not sure that the current trend in weather increase will remain so high, when a certain amount of Artic ice would have melt thus stopping the thermoaline belt... This alone could trigger a new ice age...
So your friend is right, NASA scientists are not so sure about it for a good reason... But everybody agree that Climate changes will occur...

Actually, global warming IS a natural event. How else did the earth recover from the last ice age? The argument today is that man is also contributing to the effect, by burning fossil fuels. Tell your friend that he is partially correct.

In 1997 the UN stated that Global Warming existed, but the cause was unknown.

In 1999 the UN stated that there was no question left, Global Warming exists and IS caused by human activity. Period. End of argument.

Here is a statement directly from the UN regarding Global Warming (link included):

"Human activity -- particularly the burning of fossil fuels -- has made the blanket of greenhouse gases around the earth "thicker". The resulting increase in global temperatures is alterating the complex web of systems that allow life to thrive on earth, such as cloud cover, rainfall, wind patterns, ocean currents, and the distribution of plant and animal species."

Now ask your friend to provide the statement from those "top NASA scientists"; tell him to either put up or shut up!

Ask him to tell you the names of the NASA scientists that do not believe in global warming. Since NASA scientists all DO know that global warming/climate change is real, and a serious problem, when he tries to look it up to prove it to YOU, he will not only fail, he will see all the stuff up at NASA that explains how much of a problem global climate change/warming is.

Check out the paragraph below, from NASA itself.

You can tell him that he may be right and that you should stop trying to convince him?

Many people believe in the bible, but that is their choice. Their is no proof of the bible, their is no proof of global warming. No proof = Disbelievers.

Al gore is a tool.

Your only recourse is to lie to him. lying is the only way to convince someone of a lie. Just keep repeating it over and over, you might get through to him. As far as the NASA scientists, he is correct, they don't believe in the human caused global warming lie either, so you'll get no help there.
