usually if you have to question it...you know something's wrong. I think the fact that at 15 she was smart enough to practice some form of safe sex should have been commended to some degree. And now an innocent child is being brought into this drama simply because you didn't want her living with you and now she will be under the stress of living with an ill woman that she doesnt get along with. Tough life for a 15 year old single mom....poor unborn baby

I am not trying to be mean.....but man you really screwed this one up!
At what point was taking her birth control away a good idea?
Did you not realize why she was taking it?
So now who do you think is responsible for her being pregnant...........?
You really should have thought this through.....did you consult with her father about any of this?
I know that having sex at her age is probably not a great choice, but if you cannot stop someone (especially someone you love) from doing something that might not be a good idea then you should at least educate them on what they are doing. You should have talked to her about how you felt about her having sex......with everything going on in her life you should realize that she is reaching out in every way possible. You should have talked to her about protection, birth control, and abstinence. And regardless of how she feels about her mother's "preferences" you should not label her mother or be telling her personal medical issues on-line....that is not your place.
I think that all of you need to go to family counseling and I strongly feel that you should take some parenting courses as you did not make very good choices in handling this situation and I feel that you have actually made it worse.
I wish the best for you all and I sincerely hope that Kayla gets the family support she needs.

Without knowing any more info I would have to say you were wrong. You should be giving her more support and acting as a mother figure to her (I don't care if you are her step mother or not). I personally cannot stand parents that are divorced and play their kids like a deck of cards passing them back and forth. I think you should have been more of an adult and stuck it out. Parenting is not easy but that is no reason to give up on a child!

you were totally wrong to ban the bc pills that was what was keeping her from getting pregnant. shame on you. on the other hand, she isn't your kid and isn't your problem. on the other hand you had no right to control her life like that now it's ruined unless she gets an abortion. on the other hand, why is it a problem that the mother is a dyke? it's still her mom. is she a crimminal or a druggie? if you disapprove of her based on her sexual orientation, I think you are a worse influence than she is since you would teach the stepdaughter to hate. and by the way, I am straight and still think t hat before you write me off as a gay too.

Sounds like the one with the real problem is Kayla. She needs both of you mothers to help her out. If you can, work with the other woman, and give Kayla the support that she needs. Put aside your prejudices for now.

if she was takin birth controll you should have talked to her about it first before you took her off it, she was being a responsible teenager that didnt want to get pragnaunt so was on the birth controll. now that she is pregnaunt all you can do is support her expecially if she wants to keep the baby. you cannot force her to get rid of the baby so be there for her, offer to babysit and help her out.
goodluck

I think that is completely horrible. You should of been good about her being on birthcontrol!! At least she was on bc. You dont deserve that baby or to be apart of that family. You are not a nice person!

Wow. Please tell me you don't have any kids of your own. What you did was so manipulitave, and YES IT WAS WRONG! SHE IS FIFTEEN AND DOESN'T KNOW BETTER! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE AN ADULT, A GUARDIAN, AND YOU JUST POSSIBLY RUINED THE REST OF HER LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO YOU SELFISH B****.
She is only fifteen, and now will have a baby...all the other circumstances aside, she now may not finish school, or ever find what it is that makes her happy. She only had 3 years to go before she was eighteen and would have been out of your hair. Now, thanks to you, she will probably need money and all kinds of stuff for the baby, and I'm sure that your spouse or boyfriend or whatever will be giving it to her, as they are a parent. Way to go, smart one.

All I can say is listen to your heart and your mind combined. Her mother should be responsible for her but your her stepmother and that makes you partially responsible. I suggest to just be there for her and help them if they need it.
Good luck!!!
