Let guess. Jeff Gordon could win a race running on 7 cylinders, three tires, missing a door and a fender, coasting to a finish out of gas and people would still whine. I bet someone would still say the NASCAR lets HMS win. Am I one of the sane ones that think a lot of people have WAY too much time on their hands? No matter what he does, SOMEONE will find something to whine about. How many other fans have noticed this?

I think it’s pretty clear that it doesn’t matter what Jeff Gordon does or says, the people who are on the band wagon of J.G. haters, that spout the same rhetoric they’ve heard, over and over, will go along with the mob mentality and boo along with the group. If Gordon tries to be diplomatic about something he’s a “pansy” a robot. If he is passionate about something or defending himself, he’s a “whiner”. Another driver could crash his car into J.G., put the car in reverse and crash the 24 again, and Jeff STILL would be labeled a “whiner”. There is nothing more Jeff Gordon can do, he’s won 79 races (“because he’s got better equipment" you say. Are you telling me that there are no other teams, for all these years, that don’t also have excellent equipment?) He’s been in racing practically his whole life (“he didn’t earn his way, he got it too easy”.) He’s been racing since he was 5 years old for Christ's sake. (Jr. fans do you really want to use THIS particaular arguement as a reason to dislike a driver? Jr is the one who was handed a ride by Daddy.) Gordon gives his time and money to charities, I read about an example of what one day in his life is like. He tries to meet and be with as many of his fans as he can. If he wasn’t a good driver then why would JG haters care where he was in a race, if he crashed or not, according to them he’s a no talent hack, so why boo? They boo because they know if he’s in the race, there’s always the threat that he will win and beat their driver. Most of them won’t admit it,but they hate Jeff Gordon simply, because he IS a great driver.

I'm personally proud to be a Jeff Gordon fan, and don't really care what the antis have to say about him. Despite the controversy surrounding his Darlington win, the fact of the matter is none of the supposed 'fast cars' could chase down an overheating car with steam coming out of it. Despite the backlash and boos he received for tying and then surpassing Dale Earnhardt in the all-time wins, he still achieved it. Despite the controversy surrounding his wins today and at Phoenix, it was ultimately the gamble of strategy that accomplished it -- strategy any one of the other teams could have also done. When you're the best in your sport, there are always going to be fans who love you and fans who hate you. Currently, Jeff is the best. He's the one with 4 championships and 79 wins. He stands 6th on the all-time wins list, among some true top legends of this sport. No matter what people think of him, no one can ever take away the place he'll have in NASCAR history. The fact that people can hate him with so much passion just proves how good he is. He causes people to take notice. Reactions, positive or negative, are better than no reaction at all.

I am a HUGE Jeff Gordon fan. All I have to say is it's his year to lose it. I am sick and tired of people complaining about him. I bet just because he won todays race because of the rain, people are going to whine. All I have to say is if it was say Tony Stewart or Dale Junior or Bill Elliot or anyone else they wouldn't have anything to say. Just face it people hate winners and hate it when that winner is Gordon. Granted Ryan Newman was the man to beat today, but Strategy won todays race, so if your going to get mad, then get mad at Steve Letarte. He was the man that made the call. I hope Gordon keeps on winning, but I am sick to death of people whinning. Grow up and enjoy some good racing. Yes it would still be good racing if Gordon was losing all the time. But he's not.

Just as soon as they called the race, I told my hubby people would be saying they let Hendrick win again. Then I turned on Wind Tunnel and there was someone on the call in line saying the same thing. I like Jeff. If the race had went to the finish, I think someone else would have won, but a win is a win.

i'm a great Gordon fan. So I hate to tell you this, yet Jeff admitted to being a whiner whilst he and Junior did an interview for Larry King stay approximately 2 years in the past. do no longer enable human beings get to you so undesirable. To "Inchworm" above me, Jeff does take the blame particularly some circumstances if he screws up. I guess your lady chum gave you the call "Inchworm".

The 24 team is ON this year. This is a complete team effort. Man, that Steve Letarte is an awesome crew chief. He has shown a lot of wisdom, especially for a younger guy. That was an awesome call. I was wondering if Gordon would have any more great years after Evernham left and this year has started great.

AMEN!!!! I am so sick of this "Gordon Conspiracy" it's a bunch of malarky. If any other driver was having his kind of year they'd all be singing the driver and the crew chiefs praises. Jeff wins because it starts raining and now God is in on it too. Good Grief people FIND A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT!!!

Let's talk about racing not this pathetic whining!

He could be in last place and running on 7 cylinders and three tires but still Nascar would figure out a way to cheat so he can win.

Amen. I mean seriously their is no way that anything in NASCAR could be a conspiricy theory as its just impossible as someone would say something and the drivers and crew and officials have to make really hard decisions and people dont know what its like to be one of them and its just stupid as the haters always find something to whine about and it gets really really annoying.

Even though I'm no fan of Gordon, I'm not that stupid to believe in that kind of conspiracy, Gordon has earned or lucked his way into wins, never got handed one by NASCAR.
