... and what does that say about all the others?

None.

Religion is just organized superstition. All gods are just man-made myths. Considering the harm to society that religion does in its intolerance, bigotry, violence, forced repression and the rest, subscribing to one is just prolonging our primitive superstitious roots.

Depends on what you wanna base it on (Honestly).
If you believe in God and believe that the Bible is His Word, then the 1 true religion would be whatever group adheres strictly to what the Bible says.

Jehovah's Witnesses preach that God is one person (as opposed to a Trinity). They don't advocate the immortal soul or hellfire, which are unscriptural. They go door to door, as commanded by Jesus. There's a bunch of other things too, but time won't allow.

Like I said, if you believe in God and believe that the Bible truly is His written Word, Jehovah's Witnesses would definitely be the way to go.

Oh, what DOES that say about the other religions? Well, I s'pose the adherents either don't do their homework or don't care...

I believe that Buddhism is the closest to the truth because its beliefs are deeply rooted in reason as well as experiential and empirical evidence, but even that is flawed in places simply because things change over time.

One of its main tenants is to never believe what you are told by a holy books or monks/nuns but to take what is said and see if it makes sense with your experience. If it doesn't either toss it out or set it aside until you can more skillfully test it until you are satisfied with your conclusion.

As for what it says about other religion; they are not bad or wrong entirely, but they are missing some important facts and their tendency to bend the facts to fit the faith are regarded as delusion. The common ground of compassion, forgiveness, love, and kindness, and the desire for Truth, however, are highly honored and Buddhist monks often try to start from that common foundation when understanding and interacting with other religions.

what does it matter what religion you are as long as you follow its true nature. all religions speak of peace. only the followers of the religion speak of it as if it was the true religion and condemn all others. it should not matter how you you honor god just that you do it.

There is only one true God and only one true religion. All the rest are false gods and false religions. To know the truth, study God's Word and God's Word alone! Jesus Christ said, " I am the Way , the Truth, and the Way." Check out www.3abn.org

"We are all part of the One Spirit. When you experience the true meaning of religion, which is to know God, you will realize that He is your Self, and that He exists equally and impartially in all beings."

A bright young man once asked the same question and he found his answer after reading and acting upon the verse James 1:5.
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."

loaded question here...

but of course the one true church would say the rest aren't the one true church... it wouldn't be the one true church if it didn't would it?

I personally know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's church restored on earth led by a prophet of God.

We teach that people should be allowed to worship as they may. And that there are many churches with much truth... but only one with the fulness of the truth.

have a good day! :)
