I believe if you feel you are wasting your life, chances are, you are.
What I mean is, this is something that comes from within. You need to look within yourself for possible answers to the question, "what am I missing".
I also believe people who feel the way you do are not fulfilled, in their heart. There is a destiny calling you. It may be nagging you, because your not paying attention. Stop, think, observe, reflect, and pay attention to signs that may be pointing the way.
Don't think. Feel
Seek and you will find.

Your decision is based on an earlier time of your life. You see some early expectations have been in error. That means you have had to erase some hopes from your memory. This causes depression chemicals to load in the fluid and affect the lower or auto brain. You need to be in a safe place and start to see how those ancestors of yours are trying to guide you . When you get in tune you will feel much happier but your earlier expectations will not be renewed.

Maybe you just havent found something that really interests you. Dont know if you're in college or high school or not in school at all. But-you could try going to a local school where they have a list of occupations. Something might spark your interest and you could give it a try. At least you care that you feel you are wasting your life. That means you want to find something you really want to do. Good luck and never give up trying.

Don't feel bad about it. Lots of people have crummy lives and some don't even get a chance (abortion victims). At least you have a computer and are here on Planet Earth. You could've been born in some terrible impoverished country instead. If people go to Hell for wasting their lives, then you are not the only one.

Everyone feels that way at some point in their life. I reccomend meditation or jounal writing to help you reflect on what you can change in your life. Heck, somtimes I get that way few times a week. You're not wasting your life.

Maybe you're comparing the circumstances in your life to society's or other people's standards... just accept yourself and do the things you know you need to do.
Wherever you go... there you are, man.

part of it could be that you dont feel like you are doing something worth doing.I suggest going out on a limb and do something that youve always wanted to do.
