even if you dont believe in god you use hope everysingle day
but lets look at some extreme examples...
faith in your parachute (when you just jumped off your airplane 1,000 ft up because it run out of fuel)
= hope it opens and works perfectly
or
faith in your life jacket (when you have to abandon your sailboat in the middle of the ocean because it was going down)
= hope it works well & keeps me afloat
well both can misfunction or was manufactured badly but still you will risk your life with it. (well it may very well have been manufactured in a loosely monitored factory in a different country)
god indeed might be unprovable (especially with your superior criteria) but honestly you can also NOT prove that there isn't a god.
but you are welcome to devote your life to doing so... but lighten up, if some people wish to devote their lives to God its their right as well.

Hello The Holy Bible has as its proof [not imaginary] the fact it was written over a 1500 period by 44 authors and it does NOT disagree with itself, also prophecy, and the many changed lives, and this world and us are so complex it had to have a designer, the bible is SO packed with proof of its inspiration that i would have to ask you to prove your point by the same amount of proof, also in James 2:19 satan himself believes in God and trembles, so you saying satan has more faith then you, also faith and believing is not enough, one must do more then belief one must BE-LIVE, find out more free bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org talk to me also wgr88@yahoo.com God bless

While I am an Atheist, I disagree with your formulation. Faith in god is a belief that somebody is around and living your life accordingly. It is not the same thing as merely hoping he's around.

You probably think that if you can not see him, he is not there (good point, so why bother finding anything about him).
Let us take electricity for example: You can not see it but you found out enough about it to use it for your needs. Right?
Why should God do anything for you if all you say is: Me, Me, Me. What have you done for him? (learn his word, be obedient and do as he says). Where is your faith!
