i have a 7 week old pup that doesnt drink, mom has already stopped nursing. is there anything i can add to water to attract the pup. i have resorted to watering her with medicine dropper

maybe he is not used to the water, try with a little bit of milk if you dont have puppy milk (you can find it in any petsmart) try the fat free, my pup did the same thing and when she didnt even drink the fat free milk my vet told me just to give her can food and leave the water on a side, she said that my pup gets the water from the can food since is wet, but try the milk

Well it could be that the pup was never taught how to drink from a bowl. Try this gently dip the pups chin into the water bowl. IT will lick the water off of it's chin and then see if it will drink from the bowl. You may have to do this a few times. also if your water has a lot of chemicals in it then he any not be used to it. Try bottled water for a few days and then mix your water back into the bottled water in a 50/50 portions. Gradually decrease the bottled water until the pup is used to your water. If all this fails then a vet visit is in order.

I agree on the vet immediately. If the pup is weened; it should be eating and drinking with no coaxing. Not to scare you but, parvo comes to mind when I hear a dog has stopped drinking.

you can try puppy replacement milk for teh first 3 days make as directed.
after that slowly weeken with more water and fhould go to water only within about 2 weeks.

Contact vet immediately. Dehydration can be fatal.

this can be dangerous. take him to the vet and hey wil help. if you let this last too long he could get dehydrated and get fataly sick.

You could call the pet store to see what kind of milk to try and feed it!!! Hope it helps!!!

get baby cereal preferably rice cereal and add to water it has lots of vitamins that is what i do for my boxers

try feedind eat milk and if it doesnt work contact a vet
