No. The Bible can be understood, if one only makes the effort. Anyone who really wants to find the truth, will find it. There are many modern versions of the Bible. The NIV, the New Living Translation and there's even a children's Bible that a ten year old can easily understand. The reason that so many people don't read the Bible is entirely different.

And, people listening to Bible quotes, rarely have clue to what words like salvation, sin, guilt and redemption mean to the person quoting the Bible. It would seem that every one has their own definition of these words. It's a flexible system, held together by ambiguity.

yes , they proboably would but today there are many versions of the Bbile which are pretty clear in their meanings and have notes along the bottom to explain the scripture further. I would recommend a NIV or a NLT study Bible.

No I really don't believe that would be true. Because then there wouldn't be nearly as much questionable content. And no need to go to church for understanding of it. It would almost be like any other good book. People would read it a few times and put on a shelf.

No! God created it that way, because he does not want everyone. So he revealed his word to many of his disciples, the way it is written in the bible. He that has ears to hear, will hear his word! It makes sense to me but you need to be taught by a Pastor that preaches sound doctrine

No. There are at least 5 elementary reading level translations that have been available for at least 15 years. No, people don't care.

If banks were easier to get into, do you think more people would actually save money? Oh, they are easy to get into......
I don't even think if the Bible was put on CD or down loadable from the internet that more would read it. Oh, it is...........

More people reading it was never the idea. It was supposed to stay in Latin, so only priests would be able to interpret it for us poor sinners - adding a little editorialising in the process.
