The Watchtower lies and people die!
I was born in 1957 3rd generation all my adult elders from the 1960's 99.9% of whom were convinced they would be liberated in 1975 and never see old age are now all dead.
I can remember the assembly floor filled with wheelchairs during those years I have even seen delegates present in iron lungs all those followers had their hopes dashed and they are all dead.My devout JW grandparents, aunts, uncles my mother are all dead!
Watchtower lied and people died.
Anyone who denies 1975 is a liar just like the holocaust deniers of today.
The shot heard around the watchtower world was 1975

No prediction date. Way back in the day Brother Russell and the other Bible students recognized that something significant would happen in 1914, and they were briefly under the impression that Christ's enthronement would immediately mean Armageddon and the ushering of the new system.
They were obviously mistaken about the latter parts, but were definitely correct about Christ's enthronement in 1914.
The other dates were never specifically backed by the Governing Body; they were merely assumptions that some decided to put too much stock in.
It's kinda like the telephone game: If you say that you think there's a storm coming among a group of people, that will spread. Even if you don't cite your source, somebody will asssume that you knew what you were talking about. There will be some who take it 100% on faith and react accordingly. The same thing happened with the 1975 issue.
We believe that the end will come at the time that Jehovah determined long ago. We don't claim to know when that is, but we're sure it can't be too far away based on world events.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not teach that the world will end on a certain date although there are those who will insist otherwise and then call any who disagree with them 'liars' such as Mr Hazsard here.
Since I lived through the time in question I can give you my experiences concerning any alleged teaching that 1975 was going to be the big "A".
Sorry but while some may have taken what was written to mean more than was said the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses did not. It simply wasn't taught.
Whether you accept Jehovah's Witnesses teachings on Hell, the Trinity or the condition of the dead or not, you will find plenty of material in the Watchtower, the Awake! and other publications to explain and support our viewpoint on these.
Try finding anything to support an alleged teaching that 1975 was going to be it. It simply isn't there.

Even the majority of people from christianity believe it but they didn´t realize, why i said that because in 1914 began the period the bible call then "last days" and they believe that, if Jesus died and went to heaven 2000 years ago why is now the end of time? they know we are living in the last days but they didn´t know when that time began, Jehovah´s witnesses understood a prophecy in Daniel, it is not rare that the majority don´t understand that it is amazing to see how the simple question when Jesus died? something that every single JWS know the majority of people don´t, the guilty are the churchs that doesn´t study the bible in deep.
By the way first all false religions must be removed and you can see in CNN and news how "hot" is that issues, after thatGod will destroy all goverments.

I am one of Jehovahs Witnesses and I can answer your question.
Jehovahs Witnesses never taught at one time that 1975, the period I believe you are referring to, that the end would come. It was an assumption by many after a book came out in 1966 that many at that time thought that 1975 would be the end. I will discuss this further in a later paragraph. Since that time, there have been no predictions. It is unfortunate that because of this, many fell away and did not stay with the truth. There is a scripture in Matthew 24:34 that says "Truly I say to you that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur."
Here Jesus is answering the disciples question about when the end will come. We know that when the bible here refers to 'this generation' it could be speaking of a multitude living at one time, such as the 1914 generation. But we do not know when the end will come which is stated at Matthew 24:36 - it says "Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father." So at the time when Jesus said this, he did not know when the end would be. Neither do we and we are foolish to try to figure out when. The only thing that we can do is know the signs that Jesus gave and keep on the watch so that we know when it is getting close - Matthew 24:42.
So from this exert, there were some who may have been saying the end was coming in 1975, but the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" did not agree with this teaching.
As far as those that are in charge of the Jehovahs Witnesses, it is headed over by a group of men who have Jesus holy spirit. In Matthew 24:45-47 Jesus talks about the 'Faithful and Discreet Slave' who is giving 'them their food at the proper time.' This is who heads the organization of Jehovahs Witnesses worldwide on earth today and in 1975.
Here is an exert from a book that talks about the whole 1975 thing that happened...
"The book Life Everlasting—In Freedom of the Sons of God, was released at a series of district conventions held in 1966, pointed to 1975. Right at the convention, as the brothers examined the contents, the new book triggered much discussion about 1975.
At the convention held in Baltimore, Maryland, F. W. Franz gave the concluding talk. He began by saying: “Just before I got on the platform a young man came to me and said, ‘Say, what does this 1975 mean?’” Brother Franz then referred to the many questions that had arisen as to whether the material in the new book meant that by 1975 Armageddon would be finished, and Satan would be bound. He stated, in essence: ‘It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don’t any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975. But the big point of it all is this, dear friends: Time is short. Time is running out, no question about that.’" - Taken from the Proclaimers Book, by WatchTower, Bible and Tract Society.
So from this exert, there were some who may have been saying the end was coming in 1975, but the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" did not agree with this teaching.
As Jehovahs Witnesses, we use the bible for our teachings and the bible gives us everything that we as humans need to attain everlasting life in a paradise on earth. This is something that everyone on earth now can have, but they have to search for it and they have to give up a lot of what this world offers. When you take everlasting life in one hand and put partying and birthdays and christmas and all of the other things that most people think are fun and normal things to do, we as Jehovahs Witnesses stand apart because we believe that by sticking by these things, or those things taught in the bible, that we will attain Gods approval and everlasting life.
I really hope that this has been helpful and I also hope that if you have more questions you will track down some local witnesses in your area. Or if you would like you can email me and I will be happy to help you get in contact with someone.

I'm JW also and we do not teach that the world will end at a certain date; “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father. 37Â For just as the days of Noah were, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 38Â For as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark; 39Â and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 40Â Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken along and the other be abandoned; 41Â two women will be grinding at the hand mill: one will be taken along and the other be abandoned. 42Â Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming.

Jehovah's Witnesses do not suggest any particular date or year for Armageddon, and have never supposed that they had any special knowledge of such a particular date.
Jehovah's Witnesses have never pretended that they are infallible or inspired. Jehovah's Witnesses have never pretended that they experience miraculous messages from God or Christ. For more than a century, Jehovah's Witnesses have always presented their suppositions as the result of sincere bible research, rather than as "predictions" or "prophesying".
Interestingly, however, even those Christians who did enjoy direct communication from heaven at times came to wrong conclusions; these wrong conclusions were even communicated "out among the brothers"!
For example, the apostle Peter enjoyed remarkable privileges in the early congregation, but it seems that he was the source of an incorrect teaching about the apostle John that was not formally corrected until several DECADES had passed, and John himself finally wrote his gospel about 98 C.E.
(John 21:21-23) Peter said to Jesus: “Lord, what will this man do [that is, the apostle John]?” Jesus said to him: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you? You continue following me.” In consequence, this saying went out among the brothers, that [the apostle John] would not die. However, Jesus did not say to him that he would not die, but: “If it is my will for him to remain until I come, of what concern is that to you?”
Jehovah's Witnesses apply the term "prophet" only in a very limited sense to themselves as a religion, not to individuals. The Scriptures indicate that whenever Jehovah purposes to execute judgment upon a people, he always makes arrangement for a 'prophet's work' as a warning. Their self-description as a "prophet" (in this limited sense) does not indicate special inspired knowledge or foreknowledge, but their willingness to perform Christ's assigned warning work in our day leading up to Armageddon.
What group is working harder than Jehovah's Witnesses to preach God's message globally (as Noah did before the Deluge)?
(Amos 3:7) For the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will not do a thing unless he has revealed his confidential matter to his servants the prophets.
(2 Peter 2:5) Noah, a preacher of righteousness...
(Matthew 24:14) And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

I was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and i don't think we ever had a prediction for when the world would end. I was taught in the congregation that it will end when Jehovah chooses ( We don't know when)
But now since i'm older i choose to be agnostic.
FYI there is a lot of Jehovah's Witness poser sites online.

1914 was a significant year. That was the year that Christ began his rule in the Heavens. When he purged the Heavens of Satan an his minions,
See Rev. 12:7-12
7 And war broke out in heaven: Mi´cha·el and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled 8 but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. 9 So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! 11 And they conquered him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their witnessing, and they did not love their souls even in the face of death. 12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”
We are studying the book of Revelation in our weekly book study. We would welcome you if you would like to sit in and maybe learn the answers to some of your questions.

The simple fact that they've been wrong before, more than once, should be a clue to you. If you slide your finger down the blade of a knife and get cut once, why would you continue trying?
Christ himself does not know the time, only the Father. I see you have an issue with the Trinity. It is because it's difficult to understand. The best attempt at an explanation that I've heard is that it's like water. Water, Ice, and Steam are all the same because they are all water but at the same time they're different forms. You can put ice in water and boil water to produce steam yet they are the same. I guaranty that nobody will ever predict this date right. You'll figure that out eventually, though.
