I mean why not run it tomorow like last week?It seems to me NASCAR thinks we all are stupid. There was no way it would be finished today whether it be the rain or darkness. It's an insult to NASCAR fans!I'm not upset about who won.I'm upset because it's like you telling someone you would do a job knowing you won't finish it.

Yes, I feel you have a very valid point. I've never understood why they do what they do in rain situations. Maybe, it's all a conspiracy.
I don't think that it is fair to any of the fans, at the track or at home when they don't finish the scheduled race mileage.

NASCAR has made it a point over the years to try and get a race in on the scheduled day, even if it means the chance of only getting enough laps in to make it official. It is a no-win situation, because fans may not be able to stay over an extra day and TV is basically tossed away ratings-wise with a one- or more day delay

Several weeks ago, the truck series in Mansfield, OH, had numerous rain delays - with the stands being cleared one time for severe weather - but the race was completed (after hours of on-and-off racing). It is always going to be a problem on tracks where the cars can't run in the rain or with wet track conditions.

I was at Dover last weekend and we all knew the race was gonna be run Monday because of the storm. However, NASCAR wants to keep the Sunday crowd that drives in the day of the race to stay and buy merchandise. We had been there in an RV since Thursday and were gonna stay on Mondat anyway. The RV lots ( approximately 8-10K RV's ) were 75% empty on Monday for the race and people were giving away tickets to the cup race. Dover had made their $

I guess they thought that the rain would stop in time to start the race and have enough time to finish it or get more then halfway done wiht it instead of the rain coming and going and postponing it again for 3 hours, I love who won but I think that they made the right decision at least making it to half way.

No body can predict the weather. The rules state that after the race has started if it is to the half way point when it is flagged then whoever leads at the time it goes to red flag that car wins the race. If it does not get to the half way point then they will start the race over when weather permits. They can not just race whenever they want , there are time frames and hundreds of thousands of race fans attending , and watching on tv.

I stay a pair of million/2 hour from Daytona. The forecast is 'scattered showers'. it many times does rain on the fourth of July and that i assume it is going to this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. i'm going to be going to the race, I even have my poncho in my handbag. I ain't demanding of no rain! 2 years in the past the race did no longer end until after midnight using rain delays. so far as we (the followers) have been in contact, it grew to become into in simple terms greater time to have relaxing in Daytona. enable it rain!!

I know because Nascar maybe is doing this to make it funny and make us look stupid and look like idiots! And Jeff Gordon won the race! It should of been somebody else like Denny Hamlin!

You cant assume that its going to rain... You just have to run it if you have the chance... If you looked at the radar this stuff popped up, its not something that was moving in all day...
also 90% of those fans have to be at work tomorrow if not more... so they would have to miss a day of work or not attend the race if they delayed it on a hunch...

More people can watch half a race today than a full race tomorrow. Not everybody has a tv at their desk. If they just said "hey we think it might rain today lets do it Monday" and it didnt rain that would just piss everybody off that now missed the race.
