I dated a bartender off and on in the past for 3 going on 4 years, and now I like a new bartender. How can one really know if he likes you or he's just playing around/being nice?

Why are you dating bartenders? They pretty much are playing around all the time. I know, I used to be one. Because we are there, it seems lots of people want relationships and forget that we are there to make a living. Most bartenders are pretty good with people and are used to having lots of people around them. That's a setting that doesn't add up to long term relationships. Most bartenders will give sweet young things a lot of attention so they stick around and therefore, the big tippers stick around. You might do better for yourself to look around a bit more. I'm sure he is flattered from your attentions but everyone likes the bartender. It's so much fun. . .

Bartender's are rarely shy. If he wanted to ask you out, he would have.
I think he's just being nice to you.

Being nice is part of a bartenders charm and it gets them the tips. Dont mistake their kindness for interest. Most bartenders will not remember your name or problem once their shift is over.
That being said.... I think if that bartender likes you in any sort of "romantic" way they will definately let you know.

I have to wonder about someone who focuses exclusively on bartenders. Do you have some kind of problem that you might need professional help with...?

Lol! Sorry, but that's his job, keeping the clientele liquored up so the keep spending and coming back to keep spending. Part of the entertainment industry I'm afraid. Strippers do it, servers do it, hair stylists, etc etc

If he gives you free drinks.....LOL! bar tenders never do! Or if he talks to you more then just taking your order, he's probably interested.

if he gives you free drink. most bar tenders just flirt and pay you compliments to get you back uo to the bar again but if he buys or gives you a free drink i guess he would like you, but the easiest way is to ask him out if he says no at least you know where you stand.
