I dont want to put her in the laundry room. We just got her from the pound, so I feel bad "locking" her up. She also always lays at the front door....ready to "escape" even when we are home....She's Yellow Lab////2 years old

Well I had the same problem and all you have to do is put pepper on the door and he will smll it and HATE the smell and he won't want to scratch anymore so he will stop!

Since you just received this dog you need to enroll in a good obedience class. This will give you the knowledge and tools to teach the dog and to correct bad behavior. This behavior your dog is displaying is separation anxiety and is easily corrected once you have the knowledge.

You can buy a piece of plastic and put it on the door so she scratches the plastic.

i had the somewhat the same problem with my dogs.
all you need to do is let her outside more so she doesnt feel the need to breakout. also leave her alone more so she gets more comfortable being by herself. also if you want maybe get her a companion so they dont feell the need for you all the time.
