Have you ever noticed that the more devoted a person is to the church, the more insane that person acts. I watched a rerun of that trading spaces show were that Christian lady switched families with the atheist family. She went F###ING nuts. She was screaming at the top of her lungs at these people for being atheists, she was rolling around on the floor begging and crying to God to forgive these people. I went to church with a friend of mine recently and there was some girl who was a born again Christian. They did this little prayer for her and then the whole church started crying because she decided to accept God. These people are nutty. lol

I don't think it's that their nutty but when someone is so pationate about something such as religion they get really into it and even though it may seem strange to you it is apart of their lives and i'm sure they don't apreciate you negative critism.

I have only been to church 1 time in... well, a long time. Anyway, I quit going because that's what it seems everything religious is coming to. You can't just accept God into your life and be a normal person anymore. It seems like if you belong to a church, then your whole life has to revolve around what the church wants and needs. I do believe in God but I don't think I need to literally scream it to the world. I agree that these people are nutty. They can quote the Bible until they are blue in the face to try to convince you that you are not a good person if you don't believe what they believe. But doesn't the Bible tell us not to judge? I don't understand why they act that way.

While part of what you say is true, I have to disagree with the conclusion.

Anyone who is a fanatic, religious, political, culturally, etc. has this potential. Most of the KKK were normal people with a very weird way of looking at the world, but the leaders were crazy, and few of them were what we would call religious. The worshiped their KKK ideals, but not God.

Anyone who accepts an extreme view of life, disregarding anyone or everyone else's thoughts, beliefs, or ideas, has already taken the first steps towards insanity.

Sane people understand that everyone is different.

Okay, the woman on Trading Spaces I give you. I saw that and even as a Christian I got a little scared. But it really is an emotional thing when someone genuinly accepts the Truth.

Personally, I get choked up when I see Christians have to defend themselves against Atheists. I don't see why you keep attacking us, do we do that? Really, you're not going to convince anyone to become atheistic if that's what it does to you.

I'll continue to hope that someone talks some sense into you. Take a serious look at what you believe, and then look at what we believe. If you can't see after that, there is no hope for you.

It is not just religious devotion which can be correlated with insanity. There are just those type of people in this world that take many things to the extreme. My father always told me, and still does that "there is nothing worse than a reformed whatever." Reformed smokers, eaters, Catholics, Baptists, criminals, slobs, etc. etc. Anytime "anyone" takes "anything" to extremes it is kind of insane.

Yeah - and it is normal to say that something is true based on unrelated, unlinked evidence and argue for it as if it were all fact.

For one thing, that lady on TV was nuts to begin with. She had no balance in her life or the way she was thinking.

As for the church you visited, that was one church. Probably full of some sensitive, emotional sorts. Do we rejoice when someone accepts Jesus? You bet - but not all of us manifest our joy the same way.

We aren't all nuts - just the crazy ones are. You can't base the whole barrel on the color of two apples.

They're not "insane". They're perfectly rational, they just have a different view of the world. Well, okay, maybe the Godwarrior lady was nuts, but she's not representative of religious people on the whole.

LOL...yeah its kinda weird... I'm surprised they don't allow sacrifices.... but the jolly dancing, jumping and rolling on the ground and random screaming at the sky on things that make no sense, is enough i guess. If they see any other religious groups acting the same way, they are weird and satan worshipers....
