Although a single beer and a single valium (though the 10mg dose IS pretty high) probably won't kill you, it certainly is not a good idea. Alcohol potentiates the effect of benzodiazapines.

It isnt the smartest thing to do. And The Doctor should have exsplained to you at the time he was prescribing theValium. Taking any Perscription drug of even an asprin. The medicine doesnt & wont be as effective. But that is just my opinion . And that would be the way I would tell even my own children or anybody.Just be Catious. If I felt I needed the alchohol I would wait few hours. But it just came to me the valium should need. But since I dont know all the details, this is what I would do .

Depending on your weight, size, and age, and your mental health at the time of ingestion. If you haven't done it yet then it is probably not adviseable. If you have and you can read this awnser maybe you should make sure you have a friend near you to help you out if you should have breathing difficulties, or become sleepy. The vailum alone can slow your respiratory effort or stop you from breathing. And with alcohol it just increases the risk of problems. Seek medical attention immediatly if this occurs, Otherwise maybe some physciatric assisstance may be in order?

Asking medical questions here is like asking your mechanic for advice about how to grow flowers. You might get great advice, or you might get crud. And you won't know the difference, no matter what they say, because you have no way to know if they have any background or training.
You went to the doctor to get the medication (hopefully, anyway). So call the doctor again and ask him or her. Or check the instructions that came with the prescription. (You DID save them, right?) This sort of thing would be covered there.

yes.... maybe you are too young and don't remember the story of Karen Ann Quinlin who was eventually taken off life support and allowed to die after many years of suffering.
