It's actually a state of condition.
Those thrown into the lake of fire have no hope of resurrection.
They are indeed forever dead in God's Eyes.

It is a term in the Bible---and this term is only used in the book of Revelation. Revelation 21:8 states: "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

Revelation is a book of the Bible that uses a lot of symbolism to make a prophetic statement. There isn't a mention of where exactly this lake is, and with all of the symbolism that is used in Revelation, who is to say that it is a physical place? It is clear on who goes there though---as mentioned above.

Nowhere in the Bible is it said that the Lake of Fire is hell---but many preachers/priests make this inference.

If the Bible states exactly the place where the lake of fire is located, I have not found it. But it does show very clearly that the lake of fire is not part of the kingdom of God or will be in the same place of believers' eternal destiny.

Death and Hades are cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:14) Death is the result of sin, and it is gone. Hades is the result of death, and it is gone. The last vestiges of sin’s unlawful domination are done away with.

Re 19:20 And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur.

Re 20:10 Then the Devil, who betrayed them, was thrown into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Re 20:14 And death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death the lake of fire.

Re 20:15 And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Who was the fire in the burning bush? Who was the pillar of fire that led His people through the desert? Who was the chariot of fire that took Elijah to heaven. Who was the fire that came down upon the altars from heaven, to consume the sacrifices? Who will baptize with fire? etc., etc., etc. He Himself, says I am a consuming fire. Fire is one of the most used word in the Bible, and the greater mention of fire refers to God. What you should be concerned about is, :What is the lake of fire?" and not "Where is the lake of fire?" ......................! Corinthians 3:13 to 15 Each mans work will become clear; for the Day (the coming of the Lord) will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work of what sort it is.........If anyone's work which he has built on (believers) it endures, he will receive a reward..........If anyone's work is burned (unbelievers and those who died in their sins), he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire...........Everyone must be salted with fire (believers and unbelievers). Believers works endure, unbelievers works are burned. (the chaff, the stubble, and the straw.) sin , disobedience and unbelief. But all are saved. Why?? Because God cannot be All in All, unless all are saved. This hideous "Hell" that was adopted from the Egyptians(which they called Amenti) about 1700 or so years ago to control the masses, is nothing but a mere pagan fable.

What Moises said. It is not a literal place, any more than Armageddon is. It is a metaphor for complete destruction from which there is no hope of a resurrection.

Hell, as most people understand it to be ... a place of eternal torment, is not a scriptural teaching.

Hell--and whoever goes there --which are the ones that turn down God--are going to KNOW that God is the King of Kings.
