The world is full of people who don't follow Christ, and have struggles like this as well. It is a culture problem. So many Christians try to live up to an image so hide when they fail in the "small" things which in turn end up into "big" things. What you quote from Romans shows that. The world is full of people with struggles. Some of us have less visible or less extreme struggles such as the sex scandles like Ted Haggard and Catholic Priests in the news among others.
What Jesus called each of us to is an authentic life. Many, learning of His love and forgiveness, shed their false shells and the broken pieces of their mistakes, and finally find the freedom of being loved perfectly. Those people exist. They love Christ more than image, and they will affirm to you that sin is sin, wrong is wrong, and "big" or "little" sins are still the stains of imperfection that highlight our need for a savior.
If the people involved in these scandles, humble themselves before God and gets help to become authentically who they are, free from addiction and self-loathing, then praise the Lord! If they were your children, that's what you'd want for them.

Because priests have always received a calling from God. When the sex scandal was discovered, people realized that either God is guilty of calling perverts and not getting involved or that God does not exist. The scandal caused the Catholic Church to lose many believers.

There are sexual preditors all over this earth. It is one of the worst violations of trust when any type of leader abuses their power to do this.

there is sexual depravity everywhere in those religious or not, married or single, straight or gay. it is a lust of the mind and a sickness that drives them. they are people who care nothing for others, only for their own depraved desires.

No I'll tell you the real reason. They are so suppressed sexually (some aren't even allowed to have sex) that all that sexual tension builds up inside them and they become rampantly sexual.
