i have sat with my legs crossed probably starting when i was around seven now i am fourty. i cross them every time i sit down, eventually after a long priod of crossing my top leg gets numb. i have heard that crossing your legs can cause vein problems, back problems, and hip problems, i dont have any at all, but is this true that it is bad? do you cross your legs also? and are you aware it might be bad?

it is bad to cross your legs at the knee...if you feel the need to cross something, cross at the ankle with one foot slightly behind the other...it makes you look more like the lady you are, and won't cause circulation problems...you've been very lucky so far if you don't have any signs of problems yet if you've done it since you were 7...

I've also heard about the vein problems, and I too get the numbing issues. I'm not certain if it's bad, but I hear it's more lady-like to just cross your ankles to the side when you sit.

My mother is 56 and has been crossing her legs for I don't know how long. There's nothing unhealthy about it, I just wish I could cross my legs. I've got problems that make it so I can't.

I understand it can cause blood circulation problems. I have heard that you can aggravate varicose veins. I still do it, but there are times I feel it would cause me more problems and I don't do it.

It sure feels comfortable when you cross them. However, it causes varicose veins and circulation problems.

you are probably cutting off your circulation dont cross them for so long, and check with a doctor to make sure there is no damage.
