Hi there, if you add some blue elements to the room such as window treatments or through pillows, the yellow will tend to look more green.

On the other hand if you add some reds to the room, the wall color will pool more to the orange side of things.

Hope this helps

Yellow for sure, you're idea sounds so cute. And you could change all your decor around as you get older, trust me I painted my walls pink when I was 14 and I wish I could go back. There's not much you can do with it! Go with the yellow. I know you have figured out what you like, but for a more mature look you could do an exotic theme. Blue and orange would be really cute or even a Beach theme. I love your ideas! Good luck!

do you have drapes or curtains? If you can put up a natural colored wooden shade like a vertical blind. it would darken then decrease the wattage in the light source. If it is an overhead light get a lamp and don't use it the over head. Also for a small amount of money you could get a comlemetary color and sponge texture just one wall.

Buy some black out drapes. You can get them at Linens and Things or Bed Bath and Beyond. They are drapes that don't let any light in. Great for sleeping in also. You could add a bamboo shade behind it for when the drapes aren't drawn. Thats a great look.

Try to avoid using any more yellow in the room. Yellow on the walls is enough. To make the room cooler, mix in cool colored items in it, aqua and sage green items work well with it.

Add a cool color - white, sage green, or dusty blue , or combo of several, for bedding, drapes, rug, or accessories.
