Well, you could try going to Creative Lab's download website, and look for a button to load software that will detect and update your sound card driver. It couldn't hurt, anyway.

Go to the Creative Labs site and install the proper driver. read the info with it before you do cuz yer comp might not be compatible, OR you may have to change the PIN settings on the card itself, OR try letting Windows use the "default" settings, in Control Panel after you remove the present driver, (It ain't no good nohow).

i had the same problems, im guessing you used a windows disc to reinstall and not a restore cd. problem with this is there are only a limited amount of drivers in windows. i bought a program called driver detective and its brill. scans the pc and gives you a link for the download for any out of date or missing drivers. well worth the money

If you have the required hardware on your system, go to the Creative website and download and install the correct drivers for your system. Frequently, the manufacturer's websites have more current drivers than are on the disks that they ship with their products.

Check the minimum requirements of your sound card and make sure your operating system supports it.

Windows XP and later are very picky on hardware devices.
