Who worries about how safe it is to eat yummy, sweet brownie batter, when it's just plain good.

It's safe to lick the spoon as long as you're the first one to get to it. Why would anyone just eat a bowl of batter? Unless of course you've been doing what I used to do a lot. Then anything tastes pretty damn good.

Licking the spoon probably wont hurt you any. But like Lolo said, the whole bowl will probably make you sick....though it does sound delicious.
There is a risk of Salmonella with the eggs, however if they are pasteurized eggs this risk is not a concern.
There are even new cookie dough shops that have various flavors of cookie dough served like ice cream. They can pass health inspections because they use pasteurized eggs.

I always lick the spoon, sometimes even clean off the sides of the bowl. I haven't been sick or experienced problems from it once.

I wouldn't eat the whole bowl, unless it's vegan or egg-less but, cookie dough always seems to taste best prebaked, so eating a little couldn't hurt.
