I accident left my tub of butter out. When I discovered it it had separated into a yellow oil. What is that yellow oil? Is that all the bad stuff we hear about butter? If I pour that oil off and just use what is left will that be healthier butter?

Actually, it's not real butter, it's a butter substitute but my question still apply.

Don't be "all shook up" The oil is what is used to process the margine. I don't think you should pour it off as the butter soilds is what would be left. Just shake it up and put it back in the frig.
If you want a "healther" butter buy the real stuff.

It would actually be worse. The less solid the fat the better it is for you. This is why olive oil and other oils are better for you than margarine, spread and especially butter.

However, if you left it out so long that it has separated, you need to throw it out. It will be worth the 2 or 3 dollars.

i don't know, is is real butter or fake butter? i woudl probably just toss it.. if you want something healthy that is fake butter get smart balance, it has no trans fat, or if you want the real thing get the lightly salted butter and use it in moderation.

If you left it out long enough that is separated. Throw it away.
