I feel sorry for the child that is missing, however, these parents are very substantial wealth and connections, and media. So they are dismissed as neglectful parents.

IF this was a middle-class or poverty level family that this occurred to, these kids would be in FOSTER CARE immediately and parents would both be arrested.

To leave 3 kids alone at home that is a lot! I mean it took the parents considerable hard time just to have kids according to her pregnancy history, and if it was so hard, why did she not treasure and stay with the children?

I think there needs to be a new category of crime called 'Criminal STUPIDITY.' Some of the things people do are just mind-boggling stupid -- leaving your kids sleeping in a car with the ENGINE RUNNING, leaving a 4 year old and younger twins alone in a hotel room, things like that. Perhaps these people don't deserve jail but they sure deserve SOME punishment -- 1000 hours of community service and some COMMON SENSE drilled into them, maybe.

I sure hope little Madie is found, but it doesn't look good...

I wouldn't leave my children unattended without at least their 19 year old brother looking after them. I don't want to get started on the Maddie subject, because although I feel for the poor little mite, my opinions on the parents will not want to be seen.

It's a terrible tragedy and I hope she's alright, however what I still don't quite get is how thousands of children go missing all over the world and no one says a word, by one child from England goes missing and there's a worldwide vigil... how is one child more important than the other innocents being killed, kidnapped, abused?

When a child is old and mature enough, teaching them to be independent and self-motivated is very important. But it is very important that the child be mature. Four years is ridiculous and dangerous.

I can't tell you why that happened to you. All you can do is not make the same mistake.

Have you ever considered social work as a career? You'd be suited to it given how much you care.

I agree. That is unbeleivable if 4y/o isn't bad enough her siblings were even younger. I might Leave a 12 y/o home alone depending on the circumstances but not in another country while on vacation!

i am not familiar with the story but it seems like the parents really screwed up now. it sickens me that people can be so neglectful of a childs life.

I don't understand why the parents aren't being arrested for child neglect. I would never think of leaving a child that age (or older) alone anywhere.
