As the Old Testament writes in detail and the Holy Quran says in suggestive way. (Forbidden fruit) is insight because on the basis of Quranic verses the Almighty used to call Adam and Eve and without feeling any kind of shame for their nakedness they used to reply. But after eating the forbidden fruit they began to feel ashamed of their nakedness and hid themselves.

In the past they used to see the Lord without any kind of shame. Now after eating the forbidden fruit they are feeling ashamed of their nakedness. The proof is that the condition in which they were till yesterday (nakedness), they were not able to see it and now by eating the forbidden fruit they have received insight and the forbidden tree is the tree of insight.

What did the Almighty desire?

Should man eat the forbidden fruit or not?

God gave Adam and Eve dominion over creation, and that would necessitate learning about creation and managing it. Thus He is decidedly not against knowledge. But He did not want His creatures to understand evil, so He forbade an action that would lead to that--eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. God cannot create evil; therefore, there was nothing inherently evil in the fruit; it was the disobedience that made eating evil.

As for nakedness--it's not that nakedness is bad and they were just too stupid to know. In their innocence, nakedness just wasn't an issue. After they ate, they knew they had sinned. They died spiritually--that is, their disobedience brought separation from God. They were vulnerable, not having His intimate fellowship. They wanted to hide. They not only hid behind the garden bushes, they also hid their bodies even from each other. Even today, one way to tell if someone is lying or nervous is that they tend to put their arms in front of them, their hands in front of their faces. I believe that is what A&E were trying to do when they covered themselves with fig leaves.

No, they should not have eaten it. God wanted them to acquire knowledge about Himself and His creation. He only wanted them to remain lacking in the knowledge of good and evil.

He continues to want intimate fellowship with us. That is why He made the sacrifice necessary to remove our sins. It's not that we do enough good to counter-balance them, as that is impossible. Think about it: If you murder someone, how much good does the law require you to do before it will let you go free? Answer: the good you do is irrelevant; justice must be done; you must pay for the murder. So God poured out His judgment on His Son, the only human who could bear it. He has removed this barrier between us and Him. There is now no barrier. But we do not benefit from His payment if we don't accept it. If we accept it by faith, God credits His righteousness to our account and adopts us as His child. He wants us to grow spiritually here on earth and enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. Most Christians don't; we get caught up in religious activities but don't really fellowship with God. That's one reason Christianity is in such pitiful shape now.

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad in the Garden of Eden represented Jehovah's right to determine what was good and bad for man. By disobeying God's orders, Adam was deciding for himself what was good and bad. That action cost him his life. The Bible does not state what fruit it was that Adam and Eve ate from.

The tree was forbidden because eating from it will give that person knowledge between good and evil. At that point, we are to choose between good or evil. This is our daily struggle.

GOD bless

Insight? They were ashamed because they were deceived into believing that God was the deceiver. After placing their trust in their own flesh by partaking of the fruit and attempting to make accountability to God void, they knew their nakedness. They moved their eyes and trust in God, to themselves. This, and the deception that God is far above us and we must strive to reach equality with Him, is original sin that plagues each and every one of us.
No, God did not desire their fall.
