Why are birds able to fly but chickens can't?

Aerodynamics =look at the chickens body compared to the wings and look at birds wings compared to their bodies.

Actually, in the wild, chickens can and do fly. However, they are a very heavy bird for their wingspan and therefore aren't able to fly far. Same is true with turkeys. Wild turkeys can and do fly up to treelimbs and out of danger.

I believe it is their extra weight, and I guess they just evolved so far the ability to fly wasn't needed.
