A place to worship God in Spirit and in Truth.... a place where Family hangs out.... (others who are in Christ...) and Joy in the Lord... that is what I think of when someone says the word 'church'

Well if you mean the building the I think it's a WASTE of space and resources for a place that's only used for a couple of hours a day at most. One does NOT need a fancy place to worship only to ignore that place when worship is not occurring. One can worship anywhere at all and, to ME, the Best church is in the middle of the woods with nothing but the Tree's and the Creatures and Plants of the Earth around me.... a place to feel kinship with the Creator.
If you refer to the Followers of a particular Religion then I see it as a group of people who have come together to worshjp a Deity in the same way at the same time and share with each other the spiritual meanings of that worship.

Haha, when someone says "church" to me, I automatically think about the property my church is on. I'm not sure why. But I see those little buildings in my head.

guidance, fellowship, growing in my relationship with Jesus.
my definition of church however isn't necessarily a structured meeting with people that only actively believe in God on sundays. church to me can be a small group of people gathered informally on a beach, in a backyard, or at a restaurant rejoicing in their relationships with God. Praying, learning and developing stronger relationships with God.

That I didn't think much of church, didn't want anything to do with them, until I found the one I'm in now. I now think of my church as family.

Christmas Eve.....Churches look soooo beautiful with all the holly and red flowers ! You just want to sit there forever. And the congregation's singing gets suddenly better as you are singing Christmas hymns , rather than the regular ones.

Dear Joe,
I think of the Great Tribulation (Matthew 24) or 2 Thessalonians 2. I wish that I could shake that person and say, "Hey! Don't you know that the church age ended in 1988? Don't you know that satan is ruling in ALL the local congregations right now? Don't you know that the flood of Naoh's day occurred in 4990 BC, which was 6,996 years ago (2 Peter 3:8)?"
I woud then attempt to get them to check out the sources I list below.

The temptation to lock the doors from the outside, yell out "Fire!", and laugh at the chaos. Just kidding. I think of the beautiful blue stained-glass windows at the Cathedral of Chartres. I saw them in person when I was seventeen.

I think first of my particular church, which I love....
then of the wider church, Christ's bride.
